it was 50/50 offside/onside, if VAR gave it then you have to think it was the correct decision. I can understand Sarri being disappointed but he said it was clearly offside, which clearly it wasnt

i would talk about something else other than the VAR but it was a game of not many opportunities or decent talking points from a spurs point of view apart from the win!

Yeah it’s been abit of a joke the discussion around it.

Not only the VAR decision but trying to say Kane dived

End of the day we won and it’ll make the second leg very interesting now. Shame there’s no away goals rule as it might’ve made our job a bit easier after shutting them out last night.

Also still think the challenge on Son at the beginning was a foul.

People get really defensive arguing that it was correctly given. I personally think it was but I don't care either way - it was, we scored, we won. That's all I care about.

I don't care if @CFC85 is screenshotting angles showing it was offside. Good in fact. Glad he's unhappy.

yeah exactly and i havent seen any of our fans bang on about this. Also i feel other fans would rage at the keeper not being sent off if roles reversed(even though rules have changed)

Kane dived i was right by that incident and the keeper took him out you could see clearly in full speed

the ref didnt want to give us anything all night

look forward to the 2nd leg, will be difficult but i expect us to play better, although doesnt mean we'll necessarily progress

Son got taken out a couple of times and didn't get anything for it.

If this was a European tie I would be very confident as I think we will score at their place however as the away goals rule doen't apply its still 50/50 to me. As for the VAR I guess we should be pleased it was in action but I still don't like the delay and Kane did look very slightly off to me.

Imagine if Lloris played last night! We would be out of the tie altogether..

Sky Sports Tabloid News need saink to fill the time with. Even showed a less accurate pic from Chelsea tv or similar.

Tabloud news channels and radio stations feed these pointless debates.

Yeh the bit about Kane diving is a complete joke, he was cleaned out good and proper. Salah had a slight tap the other day, went down, and all the pundits said it was a clear penalty, yet they are trying to say Kane dived.

Sarri came across as a 5 year old who has had his toy taken away. Whether right or wrong, decision made, game finished. I mean if we have that much debate after every VAR incident next year, we won't be getting match of the day till bout 3.00am Sunday every weekend.

Its become the fashion to accuse strikers of leaving a foot in when a keeper cleans them out. Truth is if the keeper gets the ball then there isn't an issue but if he comes flying in and doesn't get the ball then they are asking for it.

Out of interest, why wasn't it a red?

They changed the rule because getting a pen means you get the goal scoring chance back.

Poch has often spoken of his dislike of VAR, GT. He doesn't want it.

To be fair sandy, your own manager made a pretty bold statement about not being happy to win like that. It was also the first really big moment in which VAR has had an impact on a big game, so I'm not surprised by the reporting.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Poch has never been a fan of VAR. Remember that diabolical game it’s was used last season for us. Got so many things wrong

Didn't the powers that be decide a couple of seasons ago that the pen was punishment enough? Had he done it outside the box I think he would of gone.

It was the Rochdale replay I think. The game where Son had his pen chalked off because it wasn't a clean run up.

Yea that’s the one. Ironically I see fabregas do that run up this weekend and they didn’t do anything about it.

even though the rules for that is you cant stop before kicking the ball, it was halfway in the run up he stopped. no one knows the rules anymore
