Very strange if true

Do you want him to replace Puel then, Blacky?

Two tickets to the Bristol City about to be reaturned to the ticket office if this happens.

People reckon that Karabka and the board’s relationship is eroding. Rumours seemed to start occurring when the new guy joined the set up a few months back. Karanka is nobodies fool. Can’t see him standing for any interference. Dare they sack him after they pulverised the league leaders in their last league game? Not really got out of third gear yet this season but with a January window to do some tinkering and players coming back from injury, can’t see how anyone else coming in now is going to dramatically improve Forest’s chances of making the top six.

The silence from the club has been deafening and yet again, the fans are left in the dark. I had hoped all this subterfuge had been left behind in the Al Hasawi era...🙄

Well Will, I am hoping that the club are just treating the media speculation with the contempt it deserves but it just does not seem to want to go away. As they say theres no smoke without fire so wouldn't surprise me if he goes.

Well karankas has come in for training today.

Who started the rumour this time? I can’t see any big names saying he was close to getting sacked, only a lot of people going “well he hasn’t been sacked yet”

This is obviously to do with off pitch issues. The owner and board can have no issue with the way things have gone regarding the first eleven on the pitch.

After he was sacked, Warbs said that the owner had moved the goal posts. My guess is that something similar regarding the running of the club has taken place and Karanka is refusing to give up responsibilities he currently has (Recruitment?).

They recruited that Greek bloke. Can’t remember what position it was. I’m guessing he is wanting responsibilities that Karanka is unwilling to give up? I wonder if they are trying to have more say over transfer targets, for example?

They need to make a statement one way or another. If they’re treating the speculation with the contempt it deserves then they need to come out and say so. All of the speculation is tiresome and is starting to get the fans edgy again like we used to get under Al Hasawi at this time of the season too regularly. Nothing good can come of that. It will douse the atmosphere at games. People said the crowd was really subdued coming in and out of the Leeds game so it’s clearly having an effect.

Hi guys. So this broke on talk sport at around 8am this morning. There must be something behind it - clearly a leak from the within the club to someone at the station.

To be fair to TS they said that it’s not known if Karanka would keep his job beyond today (rather than stating he is gone) but it was reported to them that staff weren’t sure if training was going ahead.

This is a bit different to the usual rubbish you get in the daily star, someone within the club has likely leaked to the media that he’s expected to go

Apparently Forest contacted the station 2 hours later simply saying that no one had been sacked and refusing to say anymore

The plot thickens

Karanka came into work and training went on as usual. Hate it that there is obviously a mole in the camp. They’d be learning to swim in the Trent if the fans ever got hold of them...

Being realistic he’s a dead man walking I guess. Sounds like forest are lining up a replacement

Absolute joke.

Looks like the carousel is going to start up again and we are not letting the manager get on with their job.

I thought he had survived after the Leeds game when it calmed down but now I think it is only a matter of time.

Either way we are going to ruin this season.

I am a season ticket holder and make a 250 mile round trip for home games, and IF the owners do to decide AK, will not be making the journey again this season. I have suffered, like many others, through the highs and low’s, and their have certainly be more low’s than high’s. I thought we had some sanity at the club at last, but that looks like going up in the air, AGAIN. Sacking AK, would be madness, if he walks, then that his choice to make. For the sanity of the club leave AK in place until at least May, then re-appraise if necessary.

I'm similar to you Dave, close to 300 miles return trip each home game and when I was thinking were turning a corner it looks like we're at it again. I'm really disappointed, the city ground hasn't been like this for years and removing Karanka will ruin it.

‘Change seems to be inevitable’, is the latest headline surrounding AK’s position. The truth is, this is not change, just another continuation of impatient owners demanding immediate success. Marinakis apparently understands the dynamics of football and running a club, if so he should know better, you do not buy your way into the Premiership for 20 million quid in one year. It takes time and structure, bringing in yet another manager now merely puts us back to square one, or even further back. The atmosphere and crowds at the CG are easily the best for at least a decade, why risk destroying that, seems utter madness to me. Pep lost 3out of 4 games with Man City recently, didn’t here is position under threat. All teams have ‘blips’, Leeds have lost their last 2, doesn’t make them a bad team.
EM take a step back, calm down and let AK carry on.

What do the owners seriously expect from Karanka this season?!

How can they not see they should leave things as they are with everything seemingly on and off the pitch finally seeing to progress?

Given that it looks like they are going to sack karanka it just shows then they are no better then Fawaz the mad.

Unfortunatly it looks like things havnt changed there was just a period of delay.

He;s going nowhere. They just want a response like the Leeds game.

We will win the next three and the rest is history. AK takes us up via the play-offs.

That's a nice thought, time will tell.

Leave the guy alone he will get us in the play offs don't worry early yet long time since I was on here

Club statement says he has asked to be released from his contract and the club have agreed.

Nottingham Forest have parted company with their manager Aitor Karanka after just a year in the job.

The 45-year-old Spaniard was appointed in January 2018 and has left the City Ground with Forest seventh in the Championship table.

His final game in charge was Saturday's FA Cup defeat by Chelsea, having beaten Leeds the previous week to move within four points of the top six.

First-team coach Simon Ireland has been put in caretaker charge of the team.

A club statement said Karanka had "asked to be released from his contract" and they had agreed to his request.

Forest are now looking for their 11th full-time manager since June 2011.
