I think us United fans will have a bump back to earth this weekend and expect Spurs to win comfortably.

Think he will play Aurier on Sunday, just hope he plays Rose as well.

Lloris
Aurier Toby Jan (got a feeling he might start) Rose
Winks Sissoko
Son Alli Eriksen
Kane

Bench - Gazzaniga, Davies, Trippier, Sanchez, Lamela, Skipp, Lucas (Llorente if Lucas remains out)

I think it’s feasible that City, Liverpool and Spurs could all drop points this weekend. Less so City but by no means impossible.

I've not watched you guys since OGS has come in, only been following the end results of the games

how have the performances been? are there still poor games being played by the players but just less opportunities taken by poorer opposition? or have you turned a corner and it's genuinely looking much better?

Hope So.... Its hard to know. I dont give OGS any credit for the wins vs pub teams (they would have won them with Jose) but the fact is all their best players are in attacking positions and he's given them freedom to go and play... that makes them dangerous. I think if OGS tries to get tactical Spurs will win but I don't think he will..... I have no clue re a prediction

City will destroy Wolves.

Liverpool away to Brighton is interesting. Game they should win, and off the back of two defeats it’ll be interesting to see if they get back to business as normal or whether there will be any hangover.

As for us, Utd will be a tough game. Jose was sucking the life out of them but they have good players and are on a run of good form. We’ve had a gruelling fixture run, looked leggy against Chelsea. Hoping Poch will squeeze in a bit of warm weather training in Barcelona to refresh us, but can’t see a big enough gap in our schedule to fit it in! Got a feeling Sunday could be a hard fought draw.

He's just changed some basics really - getting the ball forward quicker, getting more players forward and closer together, along with giving players a bit more belief.

He hasn't had time to look at some of the bigger problems and I think your quality will expose those on the weekend.

Solkjaer has allowed us to play with more attacking freedom which has led to more goals against the weaker teams. We have not improved defensively though and Jose's more pragmatic approach often worked better in these games. Our defence has yet to really be tested, so it could be the opposite end of the spectrum for Ole in this one with allowing us to play with more freedom, so could end up conceding a bucket load.

Agreed.

A must win to show intent.

We're going to have to press the Utd midfield and defence hard.

If we do, there is not much about them, other than Pogba, that can really unlock good opposition. Herera (i agree, a little rat) & Matic can be neat & tidy but under the press, not particularly effective. Their back 4 on the ball are pretty average to poor.

We need to be switched on for the counter attack. These won't be Jose style tactics but i think Utd will be way more defensive minded than their previous games which have all been pretty easy for them.

They might have seen Chelsea's high press on us and take a similar approach, but i just dont think Utd have employed that tactic routinely enough to use it vs a very well drilled Spurs team. Think we'd pick them apart if they tried it (although we'd need to do better than we did vs CFC).

Need to play at our best. Expecting a win, but draw possible given Utd's form and dangerous front line.

2-2 for me, would be happy seeing a improvement in performance and just generally more intent instead of bunkering down

Can’t call this.

Hard semi final and a depleted/fatigued squad vs a fresh rejuvenated team in united.

Can go either way

spurs at home so me thinks they should be ok by a few goals maybe 3-1, 4-2 type scoreline

Extremely tough game this weekend, really have no idea how it will pan out but if we play like we did on Tuesday then we will get beat comfortably.

Which is it?

The issue with Jose was that he was pragmatic against the sort of sides Ole's team won against. And under him we would not have been able to get 5/5 wins.

The movement of the attackers has caused these opposition problems. If you leave any space, the attack will hurt you. I wouldn't be able to say that about us under Jose.

Saying that, our defence needs much work. Newcastle did carve us open plenty of times, especially Atsu, and they could have got more out of the game.

I'm thinking there will be a bit more emphasis on this and defending set pieces. If we can be a bit more compact and tight I think it could be a close game.

We have not won away at Spurs in 7 years. Good thing it is being played at a neutral venue as they don't have a stadium.

As OGS mentioned many times - playing you lot away will be his first "Proper Test" - We are playing very well in the last 5 games - I am sure that we will come out attacking - Not an easy one for us to win I imagine - all in all it should be a good game to watch with many goals in it

posted on 10/1/19

Win, lose or draw, United fans want to see a team try to win rather than shut up shop and try to nick a win.

A test this game may be, but a loss and its reaction would also be a test.
