Morning all. I feel the same as after Boxing Day. We have weaknesses in our team that can at times be badly exposed. Other matches have shown that we have strengths that can make us impossible for teams to live with. My worry is not at all about Lampard who will take Derby to the Premiership if given time but about the extent to which his hands will be tied financially, now and in the summer. There is still a lot of work to be done. Key positions in the team are still not nailed down - both full backs, probably centre half, certainly centre midfield, and next season we begin again without the loanees. As well as the expected outgoings who will be out of contract, it may well be that Bryson, Huddlestone, Nugent, Wisdom, maybe others, will leave. There are promising players coming through but not many who look ready to step up just yet.
I don’t mind that much, as long as the club keep faith with Lampard and more importantly vice versa. He knows what he is doing. I just hope he wants to complete the job he has started. There will be owners who will have seen how we play, seen how Lampard conducts himself and who will think that he is just the sort of chap they want at their club. These might be clubs who are in a strong financial position to make a serious challenge, say a freshly-relegated Premiership team. That’s my big concern. Otherwise I’m enjoying seeing the Frank Lampard Revolution evolve, ups and downs along the way.
Thanks Ang. I keep alluding to those losses against Bolton, Rotherham and Millwall, but if we had won those 3 we would be on 52 points and sat in 2nd place. Nobody would be moaning then. If we had lost to west brom away, Norwich away but beat 2 of those garbage teams, we would be as we are right now but it might have been seen as more "acceptable". Such are the fine margins in this division, especially this season where it's the closest I've ever seen it.
We were poor last night against a team that will and did, capitalise on it. We won’t be that poor every week and it pains me to say it but Leeds will go up.

Vidal, I read a bit where pochettino said this is how things are done in Argentina, he said when he played under bielsa it happened all the time with every team, and he also said he can't see what the big deal is. Different cultures I guess.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It was done while Frank played for Chelsea. I’m sure he must have known about this:
https://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/chelsea/8590660/Chelsea-manager-Andre-Villas-Boas-is-an-analyst-who-leaves-nothing-a-chance.html
At the start of the season I said with great confidence that Derby would finish above Leeds.
It is just conceivable that I was wrong.
But lots of footy still to be played
I said they'd get autos.
Didn't see anything to contradict that last night
I remember Spart commenting on how Leeds being mentioned as contenders was ludicrous, that having a new coach means nothing because it's all about the players and that since the players were the same Leeds would do the same as last season, i.e. nothing.
Unlike Spart to be so definitive in his opinion and yet to get it so completely wrong.
Leeds will win the league they are by far the best team in the league. all the fuss about someone watching training makes no difference whatsoever.
Sparts an old curmudgeon, isn't he, but you and him made a good partnership against the oppo's posters yesterday, Vidal

All good Ang thanks
Surely I meant Stan and Ollie! Did you not notice the deliberate mistake?
We were well and truly beaten by a team that wanted it more, were quicker and worked harder the we did. They have some very good young players and they blend well together. The better team won and 2-0 did not flatter.
BUT. Did you see Peacock-Farrell, their goalkeeper launch a high boot - studs foremost - into the body or face of Holmes. It was a deliberate act of extreme violence. The ref either bottled it or didn't see it, but the cameraman certainly did and showed it to all who were watching. It was a penalty, a straight red and a 4 match ban. And the Leeds crowd had the chutzpah to boo Holmes thereafter. It doesn't alter the fact that Leeds were much better than Derby but, together with the spying incident on Thursday, it says a lot about Leeds still being a dirty, underhand football team. They still haven't lost the Revie ethos.
No I didn't. But Spart does have some Ollie qualities - you know, popular with the ladies, always right.....?
Ramdini, the ref was poor for both sides, Leeds should have had 3 pens while we should have had 2 & their keeper off. But the performance was well below that of Leeds.

Lost to the better team. Stop whinging about the referee and just accept it. We should have had penalties too. Difference is that we didn't need them.
Leeds are not a generally dirty team any more though they do have a number of distressingly histrionic individuals. The goalie's challenge was awful. Many keepers do it, and all seem to get away with it. They aren't "protecting themselves", they are trying to stop a legitimate challenge for the ball. It needs to be stopped.
