I am using Express VPN, mainly because Nord VPN performance was poor for me. Nord are one of the cheapest, but Express VPN is not expensive either and their performance is really good.

If you are wanting to use it for Netflix and Amazon, etc, to circumvent geo locks, then I need to tell you that these companies detect proxies and will not allow you to use VPN connections to hide your location.

Also note that they all want their payment upfront for the full period, whether that be 12, 24 or 36 months. The longest subscription is mostly the best value. Monthly payments are the most expensive.

IPVanish is pretty good for me. It’s got the best internet speed in the market.
Also Netflix/Amazon are strict on it as mentioned. But found HBO still allow it.

You can try a few that have a 30 day trial period and can cancel at any time no questions ask with a full refund. See which one performs best for you.

I also have to say that I like the ExpressVPN interface, liked it better than NordVPN. I thought it was more user friendly.

Customer support on both was very good though. Which is also important.

Funny that most of these VPN providers are registered on the Cayman Islands or other shady pastures. I wonder why

2 year old advice, things change, new players on the market. 2 years ago Netflix and the like weren't blocking use of proxy servers. etc.

Express is good as mentioned. Get them before you leave to a place like China or Iran. Once in the country, it can be hard to access VPN Services unless you're using VPN to begin with.

My issues here that the government here do block it and then the VPN providers have to find a way around it. Most of the time it's not a problem.

I have Nord and it's useless for streaming from my experience. Way too slow.

Don't really want to fork out for expressvpn as wel but I've heard now that it's much better

People that torrent or stream without a VPN can be caught as when you download stuff, your IP address shows up. Anyone can use your IP to locate you really.
A VPN makes it appear as if you're downloading/connecting from another location.

Also Netflix, im not 100% sure but i dont think you can connect to UK netflix when abroad, although I've never tried it.

Then again with GPDR.... Your IP address should no longer be used as a means to identify you.....

You're correct, for now it's the only way to open up the ability to stream content that isn't shown in your region.

That includes streaming sites and blocked sites (in China that bit is particularly important)

Could use the hula chrome plug in for Netflix.

Yeah I figured as much, suspect though if anyone really wanted to trace you, they could, despite vpn.
