Symbols on the isis flag mean. i'm on my own but I've always been curious just not arrsed enough to look it up.
I saw this picture earlier and zoomed in for a closer look, turns out I can actually read it for myself. I'd been putting off learning to read and write because it seemed so complicated and my brain kept saying "nah".
There are 28 letters written four ways, depending on its position in the word or if it's singular. So there's pretty much 120 different letters but somehow in just a matter of weeks, I've actually learnt to read and write Arabic. It's not often I'm proud of myself but this is probably a worthy moment.
So this is what it says;

Through pictures and messages, we began to share our day to day activities and it became very apparent, very quickly, that we lived very different lives. Being a Westerner, I've always had the privilege of having the basic necessities which I, like the majority, have rarely given a second thought.
There is one thing in particular that we take for granted, which Joel and millions across Africa, struggle to obtain on a daily basis. We waste it, we bathe in it, we take it for granted and we certainly forget the value of it but it's the life essence to every living thing on Earth, WATER!
Water is available however, it's limited and is currently supplied by distributors at high prices, which many can't afford. The elderly and disabled in particular, have nobody ensuring they have an adequate supply of water and our aim is to change that.
We have a vision of building water towers throughout Uganda and eventually the continent. Of course we have to start somewhere and that somewhere will be a small township, 20 mile's north-west of Kampala.
Each 40,000lt water tower costs approximately £5,000 and will provide a lifetime water supply to 2,500 people. We need to raise £60,000 to complete the project and for the small sum of £10, you could sponsor a fellow human being, ensuring they will never be without water again.
We plan to halve the current cost and provide it free for the elderly and disabled. I plan to create jobs, not only to construct the wells but also maintain them and guard them. Each well needs to be guarded 24 hours a day to prevent stealing and poisoning.
We will also require the following;
A fully functioning office building and living quarters, housed inside an enclosed compound. It will need to be equipped with CCTV and guarded 24 hours a day by the UPDF (Ugandan army).
A vehicle to transport water to those unable to collect themselves and deposit takings into a bank account in Kampala, again under armoured guard.
As a sponsor, you will be given a photograph and the personal details of the person you've sponsored, for every £10 donated. You'll be able to get in touch with them directly and let them tell you personally how much your £10 means to them.
You will be providing a future, a future where water can become available to everyone, not just the wealthy and able.‘
