Ozil hasn’t been world class for 5 years.

This. Been a long time since Özil has been in the world class bracket.
What an utter load of crap. If was not going to play someone because they dont fit into his plans Ozil would be ahead of Ramsey. Ramsey is gone in the summer, no ifs no buts. Ozil is still our player in the summer and playing him ahead of Ramey would have a couple of benefits. It would give him a chance to prove to himself to Emery. Second, and possibly more relevant, if you are going to sell a player, if they havent been playing regularly you will get a far, far worse transfer fee for them. Ozil playing every week would maybe get £30-40m in the summer. Him playing virtually no games will mean we are lucky to get half that. So there is no logic in playing Ramsey and not Ozil based on the financials.
You have to put the better of the team ahead everything and as things stands, Ozil should be a regular starter, especially over dross like Xhaka and Guendouzi
From an outside perspective, it makes no sense.
Publicly says he wants Ozil to stay, and he can’t even get in the squad?
Your midfield looks appalling at times, Xhaka is an absolute car crash and yet your most creative player isn’t even in the 18? Baffling.

Pretty much every game Ive seen Arsenal play this season Emery has changed the system mid game.
At first I was "yeah thats good management. Hes getting to know his players and adapting'.
Half a season in and Im now thinking 'why arent you getting this right from the start?'.
Saying that I cant think of a single system that gets Arsenals best players on the pitch without exposing what I believe is a defence low in quality.
Emery needs to come out and clarify the situation, if he wants him to leave then say it publicly. Pointless saying he has a future here then keep leaving him out of the 18, it's making it a bigger issue and distraction.
Ozil is a good player. But he is a highly specialised player and if Emery wants him out, short term pain may be better in long term gain.
He needs to. Identify who he wants and have the people dealing with signings to work on bringing them in in the summer.
While Ozil isn't in his plans, he may need to adjust his position in him until then.
