Sick of this now. As Nuno says, a match to forget and concentrate on the next one.
Match preview thread tomorrow.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Any excuse to post the preview early
Just seen on SSN that winger Will Randall and Paul Gladon have left club by mutual consent, old news ?
ANY challenge that goes in like Boly's, with studs showing is a red card. Totally reckless, whether it's above or below the ankle. Like amiga stated above, those kind of tackles can end a players career.
But it isn't though, refs are advised it is a yellow if you catch the opponent below the ankle after winning the ball.
It makes no difference if it 'appeared' to be the ugliest tackle on history.
These are judgement calls by the referee. Whether the tackler got to the ball first, where the player was caught, etc etc not the issue. Until matches are refereed by robots it has to be that way and there will be inconsistencies. But Boly gave the ref a decision to make by diving in and many similar instances have lead to red cards
Agreed, which is exactly why we need replays to assist them rather than a game being completely and utterly destroyed.

Good, and the match against Leicester is far more important than Man City away was ever going to be
I don't think a replay would have changed the refs mind.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Why not? They are advised only to give red cards if contact is above the ankle and in this instance it wasn't. No reason at all why it can't be that straight forward.
Wolves are not going to appeal the red card and to quote Nuno:-
Nuno Espirito Santo said of Boly's dismissal: "I didn't see the images, but it was very close to me and I think it was a red card.
"It's clear, isn't it? It's a red card."
Let's move on to the Leicester game.
Come on Gem
Cinci, if it were as clear cut as your'e imagining, Wolves would appeal.
They are not, because they know there is no chance of it being overturned.
Of course it won't be overturned, we are not one of the big six or a London club
Appeals are generally pointless Amiga but i don't see why it can't be clear to be honest if what Clattenburg says is actually true. If what he says is true it is a yellow card and i couldn't give a feck if Nuno, Boly or the Queen thought otherwise.
If it isn't right what he says then there lay the problem and all refs can interpret the rules differently which is just plain wrong.
Either way, won't change the result but it could impact us over the next three games.
And stuff going on in the cup. Stoke 2 up then Shrewsbury get 3 in ten minutes
What’s to overturn. The ref said red card and it was reckless. If you believe these things should be black and white, which they aren’t, then the guidance says it’s red if the contact is above the ankle, which it was.
Just the thought of Dave in midfield up against Neves, Moutinho, Dendoncker or Saiss makes me

It wasn't above the ankle to me
I agree it’s a great result for Shrewsbury, and clearly an attractive fixture for Dave. You just have to look at his Twitter feed tonight. Part of the romance of the FA Cup, and why we all love it. I’m not going to be small-minded, and I am glad “little” Shrewsbury have made it though against us. I wish them all the best, but hope we prevail!
Memories of that amazing semi-final night against Shrewsbury at Molineux all those years ago. One of the best Molineux nights. I seem to remember that the Shrewsbury management were eventually recruited to take over at Wolves.
Nice return for Sam Ricketts as well, a key part of our promotion season from league one
And amazingly, as the tv fixtures have already been chosen, looks likely to be a Saturday at 3 game

Threads dead now so you probably wont see this, but Im pretty sure that was the quarter final and yes Graham Turner it was in charge at Shrews then. He came to us via Villa though. Think he was still playing back in 79 too.

Shame it’s not at Molineux in a way. Dave would get a great reception just as Kevin Doyle and Mick McCarthy did and Leon didn’t
