Good morning Ramdini and all other posters from VC10Ram.
I've not been posting because of family reasons, I'm just off to the Royal now. I think however that the Leeds game showed us how far we have to go to being a promotion winning team. Not one of our players would have got into the Leeds team and it really depressed me how bad we were. Without being dramatic we need 2 full backs, 1 centre half, 2 midfield players, 1 winger and a backup striker (although a good one is on Humberside)
Surprised nobody has mentioned Bogle on here being linked to Celtic and Burnley for £8m
https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11696/11607924/burnley-eyeing-move-for-derby-defender-jayden-bogle
I'd snap there hands off!!
Me too with a decent uplift clause?...
If that £8M is correct the world has gone utterly bonkers
Saw Fulham fans are regretting they didn't accept a big bid for Ryan Sessegnon. He's now valued at about a 10th of the price they could have received in August. As Max Lowe is keeping Bogle out the team then what is his value (in pounds not Nectar points).
Lowe, Bogle, both get rinsed by opposition wingers and are surely targeted by opposing teams
both liabilities defensively at this stage of there careers
Bushwacker often talks sense and this post is no different.
They will develop and I think we should keep them, We aren't going to buy an instant fix to the problems VC 10 has enumerated. In other words we have to build. We could do worse than rebuild with those two players as a start. We've been very unlucky to lose Curtis Davis but it is true we were very well beaten by Leeds, who are a very exceptional team, very well managed. We are not yet there I'm afraid but we can still hope for better things soon.

So if it were up to you would you turn down £8m for Bogle?
Derby are in desperate need of strengthening and £8m would address that
For me it would depend on having a specific replacement who would be better that Bogle (or Lowe) at a better price or there is no point. I don't think such a replacement exists - so, yes I would most likely turn it down
Derby could get a right back on loan from possibly the majority of prem clubs that would be better than Bogle defensively right now or even buy one for a fraction of the mentioned £8m
For Derby to turn down £8m would be madness IMO for a player who is currently a defensive liability
He may turn out to be an above average right back, personally I don't see it, looks more like an average right winger being played out of position
Are we at our loan limit if we play Tomori, Wilson and Mount?
You can loan up to eight but only five can be in the match day squad
I thought Bogle looked fantastic in the first few games. He still looks good in some respects - he isn’t scared of the ball and he’s positive - but he has regularly let crosses go in that a right back shouldn’t, and he runs into dead ends quite often.
Everyone loves young players who come through but 8 million is a huge fee for a player and if you don’t cash in you run the risk of getting caught out by Dean Sturridge syndrome. When Forest sold Brereton and Burke some of their fans thought they were selling the family silver but they got 20 million for the pair and it looks like good business now.
Giles Barnes another we could have cashed in on but went for nowt.
Think Bogle's problem in defending is positioning. He is either too close or not far enough away. Something that comes from experience. He needs to be able to judge his opponent. Seems capable in relieving his opponent of the ball when he gets it right.

I see what you're saying Bush - but who, specifically is available. It is a rhetorical question because how are you to know who is available - But it is a question that needs an answer before you actually decide.
I can't believe that people that Bogle is so poor! He's 18 FFS! I know Michael Owen was brilliant at 18 but was in a very good Liverpool side.
Having said that I would take the £8m for because it would benefit the squad
Don’t think he is poor at all, I think he is a terrific prospect. But Lampard needs cash and 8 million, if true, is a huge fee.
Again it is a replacement who is better Jorvik.

It doesn't matter Spart, replacing Bogle will not turn this squad into a promotion squad, but will help improve the squad in other areas such as DM & CD
I would say after the Leeds match that our priority is wing backs. Both Wisdom and Lowe were the weakest links so Leeds always had a threat on the flanks.
A chain is only as strong as its weakest link as the saying goes.
Since I've found your lot to be quite reasonable here, I am intrigued to ask what you think of this:
Stuart Pearce quoted on Sky Sports:
"It's not right and proper, from whatever country you come from. It will be interesting to see what the punishment will be from the FA. We've not seen anything as clear-cut as this before.
"If it was me, the team that it has affected the most is Derby, and I would reverse the scoreline. Let the punishment fit the crime. It fits this brilliantly.
Do you think the EFL call him in, and say: 'Don't do that again'. Or I think the way I've approached it, the punishment directly fits the crime in this case."
