If United can get rid of Lukaku then I think that is where he is most likely to go. But I see him as a bit of a Matt le Tissier, happy to be the big fish in the small pond.

I was thinking about this earlier. He's an absolute elite player in the bracket of Bale and Suarez who saw they had to leave to win things. I can't see spurs ever selling him to a English club unless he gets into the final couple of years of his deal, which is a way away.
Would real Madrid come in and spend 150 million plus on him? I'm not sure. I just don't see where he would go to be honest.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It’s not a problem for him yet but it certainly could be in another 18 months if he’s still in the same position

Reckon it will be Real Madrid if anywhere.
He would have been a shoe-in as a United signing under Fergie. Can't really see that now. Certainly not direct from Spurs.

To be fair, this logic applies to any great player.
If, in another 2-3 years, we still haven’t won anything then I’d be concerned about losing VVD.
The best players need to be winning honours.
We won enough to keep Gerrard - including the European Cup.
Spot on, we've been lucky with aguero as we've won enough to keep him interested but he really is a player who should have a European cup to his name. Spanish Dave too but he's won everything but given the national side he was part of.
He could end up like Alan Shearer at Newcastle.

How does that solve him winning things 🧐
Europa Cup could be the pinnacle!!!
Wouldn’t be surprised to see us go all out for him in a couple of seasons when Agueros on the wane.
Walker
Bale
Modric
Carrick
Berbatov
Sol Campbell
All left for major honours

Difference from city is that we had players other teams wanted while you were in divison 2
