The fact Cardiff are "lowly" is why they have to spend money
I suppose so.
But if they can get a deal done this season, how come Spurs cannot ?

The cost of playing at Wembley is killing Levy
Levy needs to call Uncle Joe or risk derailing the club.
Hell will freeze over before the stadium is finished
Cardiff will buy anyone, rejects from the teams around then, or average players from the Championship.
We'll only buy players that'll improve our squad. We're looking at £30m+ for those players... And there aren't many around that are available - especially in January.
But if Spurs want to be considered a big club, and they want to rub shoulders with the best, then they need to start acting like a big club.
Look at Liverpool, they knew what they needed, and they went out and spent, 75mil on a defender, 60mil on a goalie, 50mil on a midfielder.
Big or elite clubs, they solve their problems, they do not dilly dally. It's time for Spurs to step up.
Spurs are on the cusp, it could go either way, I would not like to see the stadium be a noose around their necks, like Arsenal.
Look at Liverpool, they knew what they needed, and they went out and spent, 75mil on a defender, 60mil on a goalie, 50mil on a midfielder.

You missed the bit where they sold Coutinho for around the same amount they signed those three players...
The stadium news comes from TalkSport. http://bit.ly/2CrO9E7 who appear to be quoting The Daily Mail https://goo.gl/E4uSNk
But they still went out and spent, also, they wanted to keep Coutinho, and still wanted VVD and Allison, also Keita was signed before Coutinho was sold.

Well if Spurs are going to be playing at the new stadium in March, as seems likely, it will be ready.
But they still went out and spent, also, they wanted to keep Coutinho, and still wanted VVD and Allison, also Keita was signed before Coutinho was sold.

Spurs would spend if they sold Kane - but they don't want to sell Kane. Just as Liverpool didn't want to sell Coutinho but had to.
And I thought you meant Fabinho. Keita was signed from the Suarez money
Stadium will be ready when it’s ready.
Considering how late it is now I really don’t care anymore

And still won nothing yet. So what`s your point?

Well at least they are showing some ambition, and as a result are now challenging Man City for the league, a team that was 25 points better than them last season.
At least they are looking like bridging the gap.

The trouble with showing that sort of ambition is it could go very wrong. Spurs just about got away with the way they spent the Bale money, but if they sold Kane and reinvested it badly it could take years to recover.
Liverpool did well with how they used the Suarez and Coutinho money.
I do not believe it was all down to the Suarez and Coutinho money, you can all think that way if you like, but you are just deluding yourselves.

So why didn't Liverpool spend the money before, which would have incentivised Suarez and Coutinho to stay?
Tbf we only spend when we’ve sold. It’s pretty much the levy way.
Last summer we sold no one so have signed no one
Summer before we sold £105m worth of players and bought £121m (including last Jan window) worth of players
