Coutinho is widely reported as being sold for £140m, but what the Pool loving media fail to make clear is that the fee was roughly an initial £100m, potentially rising to £140m with add ons.

Now, given that Coutinho has largely flopped at Barca, it looks unlikely that most of those add ons will ever be triggered, certainly not the ones linked to personal performance, there may well be something to add for team success though.

Compare that with how the media reported Spurs` signing of Lamela as £30m, when in fact it was a fee potentially rising to 30m euros (around £25m).

So you can see how the media like to exaggerate with regard to their agendas.

Billy showing he's clueless once again.

His add ons are linked to appearances, whether Barca qualify for the CL this season and next and the final part if they win it in 2019/2020.

As long as he makes 100 appearances we'll get £31.5m of the £36m in add ons regardless.

Spurs don't need to sign anyone. According to their fans their squad isn't thin and their current fit squad players are good enough to help them win trophies

Taking squad numbers we don't really need more players.

Taking quality, then most would like to see replacements for Trippier, Davies, Wanyama, Dembele (now he's gone) and Llorente.

But even with these players and a shed load of injuries we have been sitting in the top 4 most of the season and are in 3 cups.

Spurs' progress is measured and sustainable, but their progress is undeniable.

Other teams have fast tracked progress through massive spending, which Spurs have not been able to do.

We can buy. We will buy. But are more selective. We're not going to spend £50m on the likes of Fred or Keita, who have had little impact on their respective teams. You pay that sort of money for a finished product. You pay less for potential which may or may not be realised.
