no getting carried away.

I hope you keep it going forward

When they line up at the start of the games, it's notable from where sit (fairly close to the pitch) that the Leeds players just look miles fitter and lighter, we have 3/4 players closing down opposition at a time, because their fitness and his tactics allow it.

Players all have off days though, there's been a few bad games for us.

although the signing of kiko casilla should help with our on/off goalkeeping issue.
------------

Has he signed yet? Crazy to think that you are top of the league despite the issues you have had with keepers this season.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
yeah this morning 4.5 year deal.

3 x champs league winner! good signing in the championship!
--------------------

A great signing for you at this stage of the season. I have a double on LUFC to finish in top 2 and Chelsea to finish outside of top 4. Your kind of bet!

Personally, I would prefer to see Leeds back in the Prem. Great club,

and intense rivalry with the red side of Manchester.

One more bitter rivalry for you lot if they come up in addition to Liverpool and City.

"He made me devour videos like never before. To begin with he put me in front of the videos and I'd fall asleep. But he was happy! I was shocked. After a while I stopped sleeping and told myself go on, I'll watch two minutes of this thing after all. After that he talked to me, I talked to him and we'd go over moves together. He told me, see, that's why I let you sleep. You slept, you slept, you slept but the day you decided to watch you got interested on your own. If I'd pushed you to watch you wouldn't have been interested. Marcelo is just too good."

Massively overblown, if it is so wrong then there should be a ban on doing it which there isn’t. Bielsa is a great manager and character that you want in the PL.

Old man is a Leeds fan, and I do miss the rivalry having spent a lot of time in and around Leeds as a kid, so I'm (weirdly) hoping they get promoted. Don't want them anywhere near the title, ever, but I'd like them in the top flight and to watch the derbies.

Same with Liverpool and City - I 'hate' them, but I don't want them to go down because beating them now, today, when they are so competitive, makes it all the more sweet. You don't want to win because the competition is weak (for example, with Harry Kane being injured - massive shame); you want to win when everyone is at their best - that's the point of sport, surely?

Re Bielsa - think he's a class manager and a great character. I've even seen Sunday league coaches have a spy on training sessions from their car - it happens from the top-down. Short of rigging a training session (i.e. disrupting it; water-logging the pitch; stealing the nets (it happened )), then I don't see too much of an issue.

Mendy will decide if he wants to be a footballer today
When he can be bothered to wake up?...excellent
Bielsa knows where the line is and not to cross it,he sees himself as a gentleman,Leeds can get back in the premier anytime they like for me

Load of ballhox. Personally I have some bloody awful memories of Leeds and would be happy never to see them in the prem ever.

Agree 100%. Better that they went down, Vile club with quite a few vile fans too.

Not in the slightest.

Our rivalry with Leeds was short lived and over in the early 70's.

No one batted an eyelid last time they came up.

We finished 15th last season, with the same team, player for player almost.

This season we aren't just top of the league, we are top for every stat going.

We won the ball back 89 times in the first half against Derby, it has nothing to do with 'spying' on their training anyway.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
actually it has everything to do with that, the only reason you are so good is because you know what the other team is going to do.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Are you that fecking stupid you think we won because of a man looking over a wall at a training ground?

Not the 300 hours of video, all of Derby's games from the last 2 seasons, he analyzes every single players performances and has 20 staff doing this at Thorpe Arch??
----------------------------------------------------------------------
every other team does this as well. you are the only team that spies on the opposing team's training sessions.

bielsa will have known every free kick and corner routine, thereby nullifying the threat from set pieces of the opposition. that alone is a huge advantage.
------------------------------------------

Every team doesn't analyse opposition teams to that extent. Bielsa takes it to the extreme. When they played Stoke he didn't have enough data to analyse as Nathan Jones hadn't been in charge for long, so he analysed 26 games from his time at Luton instead.

There's nothing illegal or even questionable about 'spying' on the training methods of the opposition. Bloke is doing his homework on the opposition. What's wrong with that? If the opposition want to hide anything then go and train indoors and away from prying eyes.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Might not be illegal but it's not exactly the most ethical or sportsmanlike thing to do
----------------------------------------------------------------------

its not.

but lets not talk about salahs diving on this thread.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Salah diving? Don't believe you....

There was a poll not so long back which showed that United fans consider their main rivals to be Liverpool, followed by Man City, Chelsea and then Arsenal.

That would be the order I would have it.

You are not going to have a rival who you only play on average of once every six years.

No they don't, but a lot go to great lengths as well. It wasn't him wanting to show off, he was making sure that the meda and other clubs didn't think that solely looking over a bush was the reason we beat Derby.

Some people don't the brain capacity to work that out.

I have just had a quick look and there are several polls on this question Leeds come out 5th on all of them but 1, in which they are 4th. On average about 4% of our fans see Leeds as our main rival - I would presume these are the older United fans who remember the greater rivalry from their younger years. The truth is that the rivalry has become largely irrelevant to United fans. That said, would still like to see them back in the PL.

I bet you live miles from the North of England, if so I can understand why you don't think there is rivary. I'm not going to go on and say there is or isn't BIG rivalry, I can't be bothered arguing over it.

You could argue that the Manchester-Leeds rivalry stems back to the 15th Century, with the War of the Roses...

Despite the establishment of the new county of Greater Manchester in 1974, The House of Lancaster runs in the blood of Man United; equally the House of Yorks in that of Leeds (both used to have the respective coats of arms in their badge).

There is still a rivalry, but its not as big as it used to be and certainly not from the Manchester side. Leeds fans still hate us with a passion, but the dislike isn't as fierce on our side. Without trying to wind you up, your relegation kind of killed the rivalry.

Totally agree. If anyone went to the Leeds games, there was a sense of something very nasty in the air, Old Trafford & Elland Rd. But we don't have those days anymore, so it's gone.

It will come back in a massive way if we go back up and I can't wait. Same with Chelsea. It never goes.

Clubs down this end of the pecking order, Millwall, Hudders, Barnsley all came back and some meetings very hostile.

Yep, I think that the rivalry could soon be reignited if/when you get back in the PL. I think you will do it this season.
