You know what, I probably am. It just shows how much of a player he is in that role.

Find this discussion very strange. And it has arisen merely because of this one game at Stoke.

So what happened?

Stoke have big, fast, muscly players. When they had the ball they moved it fast. When they didn't have the ball, everyone was behind it.

We did everything we could, but didn't find a way past. Loads of crosses they defended, loads blocks and tackles, the bus was well and truly parked. For a home team playing like that, it was unbelievably frustrating.

And yet successful.

Blame can't be attached to our players, they tried everything.

If a team chooses to play like that, with players of that stature, and they are disciplined all match, it is clear that few teams will get past. Also clear that football as entertainment will die.

Need more goals Roofe on 14, next closest is God on 7 then Alioski & Klich on 5. Roberts & Coops on 3 each

we missed one chance yesterday, that was all.

Do you know who missed it? Not Roofe.

Ayling failed to convert the best chance we had and he didn’t do much wrong at all. It was just a great save. Hardly have a go at the right back for that.

So the argument somehow is to say Roofe isn’t converting enough. Converting enough what exactly.

Sides play a dangerous game against us by sitting deep and waiting for a mistake. They know if they concede first then it’s game over. But know that any side bar possible Swansea and Sheff Utd that have tried to play football have fallen well short. Our problem is we keep giving a soft goal to make life so much harder for the attacking players.

We do lack ruthlessness and creativity when the space is so tight. But this is the championship and there are very very few players around that can improve this. I can’t see David silva dropping down a league.

The only thing Roofe lacks in these situations that Bamford has is height. Would add pressure if they knew there was more of an airial threat. Sides tens to allow us possession on the wings and pack their own box with bodies.

You can’t go signing a player to sit on the bench behind Roofe though when Bamford is coming back and we have Roberts. No way can Roofe be dropped, he’s been excellent. Just doesn’t make sense.

Another tricky player that scares defenders when he has the ball is what we need. That creates gaps. Pulls defenders out of position. Wins free kicks. And can thread a through ball. These ain’t easy to find though. And I think this doom and gloom is silly. We have enough as it is. 4 points clear of 3rd. Calm down everyone.

Thought Pontus missed the best chance yesterday! He could have controlled Pablo’s free kick in the first half, but went for the hit it first time option and missed the ball completely. Far too pedestrian yesterday and gave the ball away for fun in midfield. Stoke did a number on us.
