Grand spur, you keep asking who ? Ok, Higuain would of been a perfect short term solution. We should of been all over that. He has the Argentine connection with Poch. There was no reason why we couldn’t of atleast tried and shown interest. There’s your answer

Grandspurs,

For what it’s worth, I think Don does have a point.

Assuming Alli has a lengthy lay off along with Kane, and with Son away for a few weeks, that’s 3 main sources of goals + assists taken away. Any team in the world would struggle if 3 of their most valuable attacking threats are missing for one reason or another.

Then the likes of Moura don’t appear to be getting any closer to full fitness either.

You were one stunning cross away from dropping points and being dragged into the top 4 battle again.

If you want to remain competitive from now until the end of the season, you do need to sign some players. Even if they’re stop gaps or loans, just get 1 or 2 players that can fill in temporarily.

The next few weeks will be critical for Spurs. You’re in a strong position right now, but that can all unravel in the space of a few games.

Can you really trust the current options you have in the absence of Kane, Alli and Son?

I get that it’s not easy at this time of year to find players you want, and there are a lot of factors to consider e.g. will they be satisfied with lack of game time once players recover. But it’s not impossible and you have a scouting network for a reason.

Moussa Sissoko, Harry Kane, Son Heung-Min, Victor Wanyama, and Lucas Moura. Alli also now missing!

Count them if you can .....That is 6 first team players missing.
---------------------------------------------------------------------

For a start learn to read Don said it looked like a reserve team TODAY. Dele played today so he dont count. Sissoko has only played because of the other injuries so he dont count either. Wanyama has been out forever anyway. Moura is never a regular starter and if he does he gets subbed so he is hardly a major loss.

As I said Kane and Sonny were the only regulars missing today. Thats 2 not 6 btw and only one of todays starting lineup is not a regular first team player.

That does not make todays team look like a reserve team does it?

Don, I understand the point you’re trying to make e.g. there are players you can sign if you look hard enough. But to be fair, Higuain is reportedly being paid £275k per week at Chelsea. That’s insane for a player they’ve loaned for 6 months who is 31-years old and has well documented attitude problems.

What about Giuseppe Rossi? He’s training with Man United at the moment and, when fully fit, his goal scoring record is very good. You could do a lot worse than him as a temporary solution.

Absolutely zero reason Spurs can't get a better striker in on loan that is more effective than Llorente.
---------------------------------------------------------------------

So I will ask you the same question. Who?

Remember we dont want one cup tied for Carabo, FA Cup or CL. We dont want want who wants 200k a week cos we cant pay it. Please give me this endless list of names.

Also we dont want one that cannot play against his parent club that we might face while we are sorting out our injury crisis
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Top of my head someone like Tosun.

You can't be cup tied for the CL anyway and nothing lost in the cups compared to not having someone.

They don't have to be on £200k a week (do Spurs pay anyone that?) just a grafter who can stretch play.and be an all round nuisance with the odd goal in him.

Each place in the Prem is worth about £5m quid.

Ok let's not sign anybody then. There is no one who could improve us

Our transfer dealings are nothing short of disgraceful. To not strengthen in the summer was unnaceptable and shows the loser mentality our club has. Best squad we have had in ages, need one or two quality players to push on and what do we do... NOTHING.

We are desperate right now. Fans who keep accepting our failures are part of the problem.

I think we have terribly underachieved as a club down the years when you consider our history and size.
-------------------------------------------------------------------

I think considering we were near bankrupt not so long ago and Levy had to pick up that mess and get us back on a level platform that he has done well for us to compete at all. Look at Pompey look at Leeds, look at Rangers all clubs that got into serious trouble and did not have a levy to get them thru it.

Higuain Are you serious Don really?

What will his wages be? 300k a week maybe?

If you are seriously suggesting Higuain I suggest you seek medical advice I really do

I cant think of roughly 89 other english clubs that wish they were failing alongside us at the moment

Samir , exactly mate. Some Spurs fans are pretty happy to be plodding along with their head buried in the sand, where as others can spot the problems from a mile off.

Bake em, it was an absolute shambles last summer mate no doubt about it.

Part of the problem is Bake em, is certain Spurs fans like grand have this attitude of “ well you never had it this good “ , despite us not achieving anything. We haven’t won a trophy since 2008 and we are just happy to accept this ? Things are looking good now, but it doesn’t help when you have a chairman who is unwilling to back his manager like last summer.

Grand's problem is he can't remember who's out injured.
And he doesn't want to count Delli because he "played today". Yes, and went off injured !
Thursday's team will be a reserves side.

Ah yeah, just checked his stats now. I’m not going to lie, I’m a bit surprised as I hadn’t really heard his name much since the brace he scored at Old Trafford. Maybe that’s just me being ignorant though

Why not ? If it means we can provide the goals to get us top 4 and a trophy, then what is the problem ? Are you seriously suggesting that an “ out of form” higuain would be any worse than that Slouch Llorente ? Who now we are going to have to rely on for the next 2 months and for the record, not a chance is Higuain on 300k+ a week.

posted on 20/1/19

In all fairness, it does feel like he squad we have is so close to really competing. It needs a couple of top quality players and that's why come of us are frustrated.

No point in us arguing about it all.

No the problem is some of us have supported Spurs for a darn sight longer than you and were there when Scholar took us to the brink of bankruptcy and are not stupid enough to want to go down that route again thanks very much.
