Get a forward in now!!!

Why not ? If it means we can provide the goals to get us top 4 and a trophy, then what is the problem ?
-------------------------------------------------------------------------

The other players for a start Don for gods sake think about what you are saying

Higuain was just a suggestion in the short term. There are plenty of other realistic forwards out there we could get that would come in and do a better job than Llorente. It’s ok, let’s just not sign anyone though. Like grand says, we will be fine with pretty much our whole forward line missing for the next month

In all fairness, it does feel like he squad we have is so close to really competing. It needs a couple of top quality players and that's why come of us are frustrated.

No point in us arguing about it all.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Agree.

Levy has done a brilliant job really. But it does feel like a lack of investment now could throw it all away (eg Poch leaving).

But talk of signing players like Higuain is crazy. We'd be more likely to go in for Jarrod Bowen. Or Wilf even.

Don. We've talked about this. Higuain is costing £360k per week excluding fees. Are you seriously suggesting we pay that for an out-of-form 31 year old?“

Why not ? If it means we can provide the goals to get us top 4 and a trophy, then what is the problem ? Are you seriously suggesting that an “ out of form” higuain would be any worse than that Slouch Llorente ? Who now we are going to have to rely on for the next 2 monthsand for the record, not a chance is Higuain on 300k+ a week.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Again, as we've discussed. Why would he choose Spurs over Chelsea? We're never going to match wages and we don't pay the mega agent fees. Add to that Chelsea win something most years and are in a better part of town.

I find that hard to believe as Don has assured us that Mr Levy is a complete bald headed blah blah blah you know the drill.

How could such an idiot take us so high competing with everybody else that has a budget so much higher than us when he is such an idiot?

Maybe Don can tell us

The real issue is that we signed Llorente and Vinny for exactly this situation. And they're both fakkkin useless.

It's not lack of investment, but shocking scouting that's the issue AGAIN.

Don, but when you suggest someone like Higuain it’ll just make the rest of the comment irrelevant because people won’t take it seriously.

I’d be interested in the Malcom rumours of a loan plus option deal.

It’s a shame Batshuayi is employeed by Chelsea as he’d be perfect for us imo

Malcolm is not really an outright forward is he?

Batshuayi is a definite no no.

This started as a sensible conversation and I asked Don to tell me who he would suggest and so far he has suggested NOBODY that is realistic

I think another thing we are all forgetting is: we sold Dembele this week for £11m without, by the looks of it, even a thought of a replacement.

Well done Spurs

Yes to Malcom

Henge, Malcom would be a brilliant purchase. We were interested in him before. We Levy take the plunge and go for him though ? Not a chance.

posted on 20/1/19

I'm sure there was a gentleman's agreement about Dembele getting his payday. But we really could do with him right now.

Not a striker but it would be a good signing to play in a fluid system with Lucas and Lamela in the short term.

Going on if we went to sign permanently he would be the perfect Lamela replacement.

Exactly Bake em, people love to throw the argument of “ well name them” , I’m not the Spurs scout here Grand. That’s up to the Spurs hierarchy to provide the Recruitment’s and they completely failed last summer, was a shambles.

----------------------------------------------------------------

Nope but I was always taught that if you are going to knock things then you should have an idea in your own head to replace the one you are knocking. To just say this is crap without offering a decent solution is pointless.

Anyway as he told me Lamela was an out of this world signing I dont trust him to scout really

Not sure we really need an outright forward. We looked pretty good with Kane out last season and playing four interchangeable AMFs

Yep a total shambles, 3rd in the league, semi final of the Carabo, with a one goal lead, getting thru a tough group in the CL and still in the FA Cup.

I cant believe just how bad a mess we are in really

So, what you are saying is there is nobody out there for us. We should just accept we can't improve the squad or buy a striker that could be a better replacement than Llorente.

I get Son is coming back in 3 weeks, but we really have to be proactive with our squad. Not just accepting no one is available as doing nothing.

I think Batshuayi would be a good option for spurs. Back from his loan, Chelsea want to sell, have proven they’re happy to sell to anyone in the prem countless times, i think he’d suit you guys too and could play with or instead of Kane too.

Plus young so if it didn’t work you’d likely still recoup most of what you paid.

They wouldn't sell to us. 100%. They hate us more than any other club.

posted on 20/1/19

I think they would sell to you Bake. They’re very professional when it comes to board room level tbh. They don’t really care who they sell to, just that they get a good deal.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

No I never said that at all I suggest you read back thru the article.

What I said was if there were viable options to improve us as a team in the future then fine but to "panic" and start an article which is headed

GET A FORWARD IN NOW

is hardly productive or sensible.

There are obviously players that would improve our squad but our forward situation is a bit different.

i pointed out that what forward of the sort of ability we need will sign for us when they know full well that as soon as Harry and Sonny are back they will spend all their time on the bench.

If you can think of one that will step in for 6 weeks, get us where we want to be then spend the rest of the time watching Harry Kane play then fine lets have a possible name.

Allowing for the fact of course that Levy is not going to pay him 200k a week to sit on that bench for a couple of years
