Kane isn’t the best ever (certainly not yet).

But if he’d scored to get England past Croatia, then helped beat France to win England’s first World Cup since 1966, with an underdog side that had no business winning, then (along with his goal scoring record) he’d have a case.

I think people dismissing Bale is just nostalgia for older players.

If Bale played in the 50s & 60s, and we read about, and saw black and white film of a player who was twice Player of the Year in England, scored a hatrick at the San Siro, then went to Real Madrid and won 4 European Cups and scored an overhead kick in a European Cup Final...

He’d 100 pct be a contender for best ever British player.

Wes Morgan score a hat trick v NY Cosmos.

It's not nostalgia, George is the best so far
. It doesn't mean he can't be overtaken. Gareth is excellent, but not quite as good imo.

Don't think anyone has mentioned Gazza so I will. Gazza.

Gazza was mentioned one before.

Gazza didn't have a great career, especially given his talent.

Got to be Greaves. Best striker ever. Hurst would not have scored that hatrick if he did not get injured. If he was playing now would be worth is weight in gold.
