Liverpool a better side than City
=======

Do you actually believe this?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
On the head to heads i've seen over the last 2 season yes without a doubt.

Liverpool are a more dangerous side, they have a heart we haven't seen enough from City.

I agree with this. Pep said he gets sleepless nights because of us. I reckon Klopp sleeps well after his couple of pints and bifters

I'm surprised you think that tbh, I know I don't, but fair enough.

If you blow it now it's Newcastle levels of bottle crashing.

Can't see past Liverpool though.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
4 points ahead of a team that had the best ever PL season and is on course for a title winning number of points in 90% of seasons. How is that remotely on Newcastle's level?

Newcastle had a 12 point lead ffs, not one that can be wiped out in 2 games.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm working off the assumption you win the game in hand.

Liverpool a better side than City, i would guess head to heads over the last 2 seasons would probably show that.
And Newcastle weren't a better side than United.

So for me, it would be on that scale.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Its a league though, its about squad, not the first 11 and city have without a doubt the strongest squad depth i have ever seen,
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I'd rather have the best 11 than the strongest squad though.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Great in theory, but irrelevant in terms of winning a league, during which you will have multiple injures and need to rest players unless you decide not to compete in the cup competitions.

If your second 11 is good enough for the top 4 in its own right thats a huge advantage over a team whos second 11 would struggle for top half.

I know some of our more optimistic fans will say that we are still to hit our stride this season, especially when it comes to the attack but for me we've dominating every team when it comes to just zapping the life out of any game when we're in the lead. That's our tactic this season.

---

I'm one of those fans, think this paragraph of yours is completely right. Feels to me this season like we're holding back compared to the last but it's tactical as you say.

I absoloutely agree about the heart, we saw it against arsenal, most previous liverpool teams would have folded when they scored first. but we just responded by blowing them out the water.

I also think we have the better manager, the first 11's are about even but their squad is far superior to ours.

If we break 90 points but don't win it it's certainly not bottling

posted on 30/1/19

Tbh it's not about the 90 point mark or any of that imo.

For me bottling is when you don't play to your best when under pressure so regardless of what we've done in the season if we suddenly meltdown and take one point from nine in the final three games then that, for me, is us bottling it.

I think there is potential for it too.

My mates brother is a coach at city. He used to coach at Utd with Fergie back in the day. He said that Pep is pretty harsh and demands so much from his players. Shows them no sympathy when they are tired or injured as well. I think Klopp gets the best out of his players. He is renowned for giving out the hairdryer treatment but is also good at putting his arm around players when they need it.

Agreed other fans would be foolish to think otherwise we gonna win it. We need to get back on the trophy trail

Not sure I agree, our team in 09 was excellent.

Mascherano, Alonso, Gerrard and Torres was the spine of that team.

Reina, Carra, Arbeloa all in their prime for us too.

But when torres needed a rest we had David Ngog

Just a bit worried City despite their slip ups are clearly the strongest squad in the league. We havent really slipped up as of yet if it can happen to them it can happen to us just as easily. Also we dont exactly have the experience and have been ahead of City before in a title race and lost.

Be just like us to go and fack it up tonight too. We don't do well after breaks and we've had 10 days off? tbh if this doesnt motivate the team what will? Whoever wins the league fair play as im sure its gna be one of the hardest fought over titles ever.

LFC team is not as strong as city's team par se but can beat city and hold our own.

why?

GK: equal, big compliment to erdeson that
defence: LFC's is now better if best 4 fit. City are a bit soft
Midfield. clearly city.
Forwards. fairly equal. Citys are really good, our 3 are decent too

Its no disrespect to Our to say that right now fernandinho, silva and debruyne are world class.

interesting two of them are 33 though.

The thing is:

city have cover as well which really we don't in places
we use flexibility to get round to the same place.
