5 points ahead

They'd be 2 points behind us. We will start most games 2 points behind for the next few weeks as City play first.

I'm just hoping it was an off night rather than pressure getting to the players.

Better result than Man Cities and that is what counts.

True. All we have to do is make sure we better City's results and the league is ours.

It’s funny if city won and we won this week we would all be happy to be 4 points clear. Leicester are a tough team for the big teams to play. They beat city so securing another point ahead if city is great in my view

But they didn't win, they lost.

That's why I said "if"

we failed to show any championship credentials.

The sighs of relief in City could be clearly head as our game finished.

yes the end result of game week 24 is LFC are one point further ahead, but its still a massive missed opportunity.

1st we get beat by city opportunity to strecth to 10 points gap but hold a 7 points gap.

2nd we fail to get form 4 to 7 points gap.

will we get a third shot this weekend to stretch this out? it could be.

We were given a golden opportunity last night and failed to take it.

I'd rather have a 5 point lead than a 4 of course but when you think about it, it doesn't change too much.

In both instances, we're a defeat and a draw away from blowing the lead whereas the 7 points would've allowed 2 defeats.

Real shame.

Well City's next 3 are against Arsenal (H), Everton (A) and Chelsea (H)

Plenty of chance there for dropped points

Lets just keep bettering Man City's results..

They will not win all of those games imo. I reckon they will probably get 6 points. We need to try and beat that

posted on 31/1/19

I'd hope we can but we have hardish games ourselves.

City will smack Everton 4 or 5 nil. They will roll over without a doubt.

Arsenal are Arsenal and Chelsea look hopeless atm.

Not expecting anything from those games myself but as long as we keep winning, it doesn't matter.

You're right Metro but City won't win 14 in a row, they'll drop points somewhere so chances are we can afford worse than a draw and a loss.

Let's not forget they've lost 4 of their last 9 games.

I'm sure the toon supporter said the same on Wednesday

Have a little faith. You've only lost 1 more game than City

Actually agree with you on this.. the pressure on Silva will increase if Everton take any points off City.

This is not true though.

We now are a defeat and a draw away from blowing the lead whereas before we were 2 draws away.

Now we can afford to have 2 draws.

I suppose - but I think the crux of my point is that had we won, we could’ve afforded to drop points in 3 fixtures. That extra fixture, that cushion has gone.
