Sounds like Swansea are th3 ones to blame here! He had a medical so they must have agreed a deal only to mess about Leeds and the young lad.

Very poor from them and I hope they suffer for it big time.

Don't think it's poor from the club at all. You're just a whinging get.

They wanted their man, and unforseen circumstances have got in the way. Pick ourselves up for Norwich and try and smash them. Then when we play Swansea at Elland Road, make sure we send them packing back to Wales empty handed.

Bolloxs

We’ve messed about for two weeks. Should have fooked the deal off last week and moved on to someone else.

And don’t give me this garbage, he was the only one, he ain’t messi.

Midfield well short now

They had their target and they wanted to get him. I'd rather they be persistent in that than end up with us signing Cameron Stewart or whatever.

Essentially, deal was agreed, James passed his medical, was sat at ER from about 6pm waiting to be unveiled and Swansea went quiet. Stopped responding to contact and 11pm went by. No deal sheet in with the EFL so as far as this window is concerned, James to Leeds isn't happening.

a very awkward situation for James who told Swansea that he wanted to leave and take the move. Leeds might revisit this in the summer but that's for another day. Big frustration to have missed out on him. #lufc

Depending on your view of what constitutes a senior player we have a tiny squad now trying to gain promotion with the the rest made up from U23s.

Sounds like nasty behaviour from Swansea. Acting in good faith? Get to feck.

suspect this is less to do with Leeds-Swansea than it is to do with Swansea-Swansea and the politics down there. Was always going to be a deeply unpopular exit in south Wales. More to come on that I think. #lufc

Jacob Murphy would have been ok?

Well short? I think that’s a bit dramatic.

We’ve lost Saiz.

We have Klich, Pablo, Clarke, Foreshaw, Roberts, Alioski, Phillips, Shackleton, Harrison. All fit and Brown to come back in soon.

It’s sad we’ve missed out but I’m sure our season doesn’t hinge on a 21 year old kid from Swansea.

Seems that the same has happened with Leroy Fer from Swansea to Villa. Pulled the plug late on. Somebody at Swansea is refusing to let all this happen. #lufc

So they've got internet then?

They will get a couple of very happy players back now, just wasted a day traveling

Villa have just signed Tom Carroll from Swansea instead of Fer.

Very strange series of events going on in Wales.

am told that the deal was agreed directly between Radrizzani and Swansea owner Jason Levien. Levien was ready to sign it off but someone else at Swansea refused. Politics. #lufc

From Phil Hay:

“the version I've been given is that Leeds originally planned to pay a £1.5m loan fee for James in June. Swansea then asked for £750,000 up front with the rest to come at the end of the season. Leeds were willing to agree to that.”
