No reason to panic....

Not bad overnight but generally fatigued which is a genuine concern

Agreed but the squad has more depth than we anticipated particularly with returning players.

I find it ironic that they are bemoaning the lack of a replacement.

What a stupid comment

Just because some people don’t rate a player, doesn’t mean they shouldn’t want a replacement.

Spoilt a decent a thread by being a tw@t

Point of order: it was Jansson who gifted them the opportunity to take an early lead. Forshaw's gift came later on.

Aye, Saiz may have come in for some criticism in regard to certain aspects of his game, but most with any sense would acknowledge that he played an important role in the team for the first half of the season - a role that we have no one else capable of playing - and it's hardly unreasonable to hold the view that he should have been replaced on "like for like" basis, or as near as dammit.

not panicking in the least but norwich were better than their 3-1 margin. jansson started it all off by losing the ball but we lost the ball all game.
for once a team that looked hungrier than us.

Only positive is we are joint top and still have a 3 point gap between us and 3rd.
We could be 3 points clear of Norwich and 6 from the Blades next week such is division.

Thats it positives over.

Not the point I was making. I find it strange that those slating him want a replacement.

JUst watch the 1st goal back & the dangerous tackle came in from Vrancic who lunged in with studs showing on Pontus, as to why he did what he did. Should've been a deff yellow for me.

posted on 3/2/19

Then free kick was so lucky, believe Casilla had it covered but took a deflection off Forshaw which took it way from Casilla .

posted on 3/2/19

2nd was Forshaw slip & lucky deflection from shot again off Pontus in to the path of pukki.

posted on 3/2/19

Yeah the freekick was lucky, all 3 goals were. We were poor and they were the better team but they got some fortune. 3 deflections, 3 goals. The 2nd against the run of play which ended the game effectively.

Positives are, we are second but only on goal difference. Norwich are in the same position as us, 2 goals ahead. So for as bad as that game was, we are on equal footing to them. Bamford is a step further back to a come back, Brown isn't far off. Phillips is back and will probably start DM next weekend.

3rd was Douglas giving it away & shot was soft Casilla's fault through Douglas legs & the through Casilla's legs, double nutmeg

2 defeats against wba & norwich were both teams best performances of the season. Can't really complain & yup 2nd

I think we've done well to be where we are taking into account the squad we have, which is essentially the same as last season bar a couple of exceptions, all the long-term injuries we've had, and youngsters being called upon to fill in much earlier than may otherwise have been the case.

I just wonder if Bielsa has underestimated the physical and mental demands on the players of a 46 match season given his high-tempo, high-intensity training methods and style of play. The Premier League and most European leagues have 20 teams playing 38 games. There may be a few who have 18 teams resulting in 34 games. In these other leagues we'd be into the final run-in now. Our reality is we've already played 30 with a third of the season still to go.

Admittedly, it's the same for all the other teams in the EFL but not all will be schooled the Bielsa way. At the end of the day it will be a combination of factors. We are where we are and we have to keep going.

I have noticed that Bielsa's demeanour during the match against Rotherham, and yesterday against Norwich seemed to look more deflated - he looked a troubled man, but maybe I'm making something out of nothing.

Ultimately, we've been in a dip for a few weeks but are still in the mix. I'd rather it be this way than at the end of the season when it's too late to do anything about it.

We pick ourselves up and carry on.

I think this whole Spygate nonsense has deflated Bielsa as he is very sensitive to questions about his integrity and the effing football league have taken far too long to wrap this affair up and that has shown in Bielsa's body language and the teams poor showing in the last 3 games. According to Jim White the matter will be resolved next week..Amen to that.

We lost to a team that appeared to want it more than we did.
---------
So what is the excuse for the other four losses in the last six games?

id go a little lower for casilla and pablo.

Other than Bamford who displayed a spark and killer instinct in front of goal, the whole team deserves a 4, other than Cooper who did not seem to do much wrong.

I'm talking about the Norwich game, not the others.

Problem is - there are 3 or 4 other championship teams playing better than us at the moment.

And only 2 auto places.
