Just checked and if we do our form after 25 games to 38 games we will hit 72.96 points so 73 points rounded which I think should scrape 4th but I reckon we will need to beat Chelsea and Arsenal.

What do people think were wrong with the tactics and/or personnel today?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Tactics: Playing deep, large spaces between defence, midfield and attack. This meant our attacking players had to run the length of the pitch to defend. A higher line would have helped us maintain pressure and the shorter distance to run for our attackers would have left them with more fuel in the tank towards the end of the game.

Ole wants explosive counter attacking football, Sanchez on the left is obviously the wrong person for that position with these tactics in mind. He can't beat a man for pace and furthermore the two teams (Barca/Arsenal) he's been most successful in played build up football. Fast acceleration over short distance instead of flat out speed over long distances were more of an asset in these styles of play.

Sanchez should either play as the false 9 in the diamond or on the right hand side of a 433 drifting in to central areas where speed isn't crucial. In the false 9 position he has the work rate to mark the deepest opposition midfielder and the attacking ability to arrive late in the box and put it away.

His other mistake with personnel was bringing Lukaku on when we were 1-0 up and working hard to retrieve the ball, keep it and launch a counter. Lukaku is only marginally good at one of those things, we all know his work rate is as shocking as his first touch.

That being said, still loving what Ole is offering our club but he has plenty of room for improvement. Hopefully that will change with refreshing the squad with signings/youth players.

Everyone plays with a deep line against Leicester because they have two of the quickest strikers in the PL, and have repeatedly rinsed teams by knocking balls over the top and into channels for them to chase. Vardy is comfortably quicker than any of our defenders and is deadly one-on-one.

Martial apparently wasn't fit to start, so I'm not sure who Ole would have played on the left other than Sanchez (unless you wanted to see Rashford on the left and Lukaku up top), and 4-3-3 was the right approach today, as evidenced by the performance of the midfield.

The Lukaku substitution was the biggest question mark, but he doesn't have many options up top to go to.

The big problem today was individual performances. We had two players who had absolute stinkers, and a very average turn out (at best) across the front line. Ball retention and the final ball in the Leicester third were poor.

In my opinion, Sanchez should have played the false 9 role, with Lingard and Rashford playing as the two strikers who spread further wide on the counter. I don't mind Rashford on the left or right when these tactics are deployed. I will always prefer to see him through the centre in a 433 though...

As for the high line, we don't have to push up to the half way line but we don't have to defend just outside of our area either.

You give them no space to work in behind, they create nothing. They're no danger from 25 yards and don't have the supporting line to play through teams.

If you stay deep and push them wide, all you have to do is stay switched on and they're little danger.

I thought we got that spot on today. Did Dave have to make more than one decent save?

Defensively they were spot on, attacking wise no they weren't sot on for me. The balance wasn't there, to protect our back for, we gave up a little of our attacking intensity and it was difficult at times.

Lol Ince is clueless. Spurs had less clear chances than we had and Lloris made the better saves. Spurs only had chances as we kept giving the ball away. We had tons more shots than Spurs over the 2 games we played them. Spurs most likely have more chance of finishing 6th then they have of having more shots on target than us this season in the league. Spurs shoot very little on target most games. 1 freak half and that is the narrative for Poch when they have very few on target every game.

Also OGS has turned us from a laughing stock to one of the best teams in Europe in not only results but dominance in the way we play. Getting top 4 from the position Mourinho left us in would need title winning form. Since OGS took over we are better than title winning form.

PSG lost. They can be beaten if we play a high level game.

Not the best performance, but what a goal. Another match winning performance from our two talisman.

We had chances early on too, if we keep starting games fast we will Keane how to see games out, just like yesterday.

The players looked leggy yesterday and who can blame them. With the exception of Lukaku, the lazy toad who came on for 20 and didn't even muster a sprint.

PSG played a back 3 yesterday with a midfield 5 (wingbacks) of;

Bernat...Di Maria...Marquinhos...Draxler...Alves

Looks a bit light in CM to me that, a defender and two very attacking midfielders.

We need Pogba/Matic/Herrera as fit as they can possibly be for this game and I think we can get a real foothold in the middle.

Obviously Mbappe and Cavani up front as well as their midfield attack will be horrific to watch when they attack us, but we can certainly cause them a lot of problems.

Back 3 looks dodgy too if Alves and Bernat don't help back.

So why do you lot all still want him as your next manager ??- every other post on your page covers this. If you are such world beaters, then why not stick with what you have got. Maybe stop trying to write negatives bout Spurs every day and showing you are actually clearly worried bout them.

Spurs are extremely clinical like Arsenal thats got them so high up.

I am not worried about Spurs. I think Leicester City will beat Spurs next game and that will be title challenge over.

Wtf?

There are far more that would prefer OIe to continue as he is and get the job. You must've not been on our board since before Jose was sacked.

OGS is the manager I wanted in 2013 end so if we could get him long term we will be grateful. He is a legend who knows the SAF way. Proven track record winning things as player and manager. Managed some of the current players in youth team. Spurs can have Poch.
