Good Performance from Arsenal

Arsenal were awful. Barely had a shot. City have been very ordinary for last few months losing 4 times in the league. Newcastle best them last week though.

Good result for us though.

In Unai's own words himself "We have no wingers".

Seriously, he actually said that?!

Most of the Arsenal team were either plug holes, filling gaps or fresh off injury so we didn't expect much from the team. A draw would have been like a win in this game but....

Of course, when you look at details there were good performance hidden in between the play which is what I was talking about.

Oh.

Maybe you need to make that clearer. The context of the article suggests he said it after yesterday’s match.

I shall, but of course the lack of wing play limited and hurt Arsenal yesterday. Unai must be looking forwards to the summer desperately, so he can revamp the squad.

Since we don't have wingers and Arsenal are known to play decent football through the middle, maybe we should try this until the summer?
Might as well try to use what we have and what we are good at rather than persisting with a system which we don't have the personal for?

Just a thought.

Of course I agree with this, and Unai seems to be very flexible with his approach but because it this first season he is having to experiment various approach to learn and grow with the team.

Our middle play hasn't really been that great either specially with Ozil and Ramsey not playing, if the former do play then our team suffer in off ball workrate and defence. Its a difficult position for him to be in. He has to play with make shift player and make shift tactics.

Emery is flexible but only regarding the defence. In terms of attack, it is all about full back pushing forward and overlapping. Hence why we look c.rap when one of Bellerin or Kolasinac missing, nevermind when both are not playing. He is yet to develop a tactic based on playing through the middle.
