He's spot on about everything to be honest.

That said, i must admit i thought his criticism of McLean on Friday night was poor, thought he had a good game.

Wouldn’t be surprised to see a 2 match ban for Defoe after all this.

I’m still not sure why anyone thinks defoe was in the wrong, he didnt even claim for a penalty

I think he does take a dive but he quickly realises he's made a kant of it and gets up quickly.

Rarely do you see players own up to it so it's the referee's job to see past it.

Because he duped the ref. Don’t think Jordan Jones claimed either but still got the ban-because he duped the ref into believing he was fouled.

What is the daft rule about the ref's report and how it influences retrospective action?

Dallas's match report will be along the lines of 'WATP, ya fackin dancer, 4-0, fook they taigs, Simply the Best, love ma Tina so a do. Its was auld and its was.....'

I don't think there was a witch hunt after Jones blatant dive, just an uproar of everyone calling him a cheat. The only way to stop the diving is to shame the players involved. So, Jones had to take his medicine, Ryan Christie was booked last week & now Defoe can rest his weary 40 year old limbs for 2 games when the SFA take retrospective action.

Unless Dallas sticks by his original, poor decision & the SFA back him.

The retrospective 2 game ban is harsh as well.

If you're booked for it at the time then that's it, just a booking.

If you don't get booked then you might get a 2 game ban for the referee not doing his job

Allegedly the compliance officer goes through every top flight game on a Monday/Tuesday but I'm sceptical if that's true

I don't think Defoe deserves a ban for that tbh.

As to the OP, I like Steve Clarke. he's done a great job. Steve McLean had a good game on Friday though so I think its harsh to go after him.

Now..I need to be careful here, for obvious reasons, but what's the point in that.

The compliance officer has never been a referee. As far as I'm aware neither of the past two have been involved in the game at all.

That's just a layman watching a game. Not sure what she's supposed to offer an opinion on.

Bring in VAR. Then Rangers and Celtic would be in the bottom two and Dundee would be on for 10 in a row.
