Had to look that up, 19 clubs in 18 years

He should be at least given the league cup final. After all it is one win each between City and Chelsea despite what happened yesterday.

Foreign managers rarely do well in the PL. If you want to have a chance of actually winning the PL, then you really need to go for an English manager. Specifically, an English manager who has won the PL before.

Sarri needs to be given time, would be crazy to sack him now.

Huge over reaction for this defeat. Calm down and move on. All teams, including City have high and lows. No team escapes a tonking , every so often. It's a rare experience for us, explaining the doom and doom sayers suddenly around in abundance.
I think most of ups realise that we must allow time for this experiment to work. Sarri must be given time. Most other teams would love to be in our current position.
Top 4 is recoverable, and we are still in the cups. So much to look forwards to.

People need to remember that this was Man City that Chelsea lost heavily to. It's not like it was Bournemouth or someone like that, so no need to get carried away just yet.

Disagree

Give it to Mourinho until the end of the season, including the cup final.

Mourinho seems to have lost his touch in the league, but he's an extremely good big game cup manager. He'll be ravenously hungry to prove himself at the top level again after all the doubters and I'd fancy him to win the cup and then make an assault on the top 4 on the back of it.

I agree but Roman is Roman. We've seen this before, no matter how much he wants continuity his desire for the short term fix always wins and to date he's yet to be proven wrong when he gives in to it so there's no reason to doubt it (yet).

You look at our fixtures coming up and unless Sarri gets wins (or at least strong performances) leading up to it, a loss to Spurs at home - with all the negativity that'll come from that it'll be so easy for Roman to sack him especially with the interim options available. He'll see what's happened at United, think back to the Derby match and how well they played/how well Lampard was received by the crowd throughout the match and he will be tempted. You just know he'll consider Mourinho too, and Mourinho would probably accept it knowing he has to seize the opportunity to repair his reputation even if he doesn't want it.

I'm not worried about the result. Yes it was bad but City are on another level. I am worried about Sarri now.

You don't need to be a good player to be a good manager.

Entirely different skill set.

With Sarri CFC have made a big gamble.
Yes he did get Napoli playing well and great football but " Did He Win Anything "
I am not saying he still cannot and CFC should be sacking him, but whatever way you look at it, the gamble was massive, but Chelsea must have seen something in him..
So if CFC believed it to be worth it at that time, then, they must have realised there would be big teething problems with new styles, short pre-season if you can even call it that .
So I cannot see how they cannot continue with Sarri.
One of the big problems is the team really needed breaking up, its become stale.
And this will really cause some issues but I think we need to start with Azpi and in my mind probably another 6 or 7 first teamer's.
Just my opinion

Just one other point. We on this board discuss our teams and what should happen and not happen.
But we as fans will never be listened to.
Does not matter what club it is, LFC, Man U Man City, Etc.
The club will make the final call, but ours do make some strange one's.
This will next statement will also probably causes some arguments.
I think we also caused a big problem when we took Mourinho back for a 2nd time. Really do not think we should have done that, I know I will be beaten with the stick but we won the prem again, but I would counter that it is just a step backwards when ou re-hire Managers and players for that matter.
At the 2nd time of Mourinho that was the perfect time to try and make the change football style wise.
Again just my opinion

An opinion you're fully entitled to. You could well be right. We'd quite possibly still have KDB and Salah as well if we'd done that.

Try not to take offence to this but mate you're deluded. I mean you literally cannot be serious when you say huge overreaction from yesterday??

We've been utterly woeful for months, didn't score a single goal against Southampton to Leicester, lost 4-0 to frigging Bournemouth and lost 6-0 yesterday to city.

Overreaction, Jesus mate, do us all a favour and go and follow another sport you deluded ldlot

Agree, there is no overreaction. Real concern at our club at the moment

Massive overreaction. Still in FA cup, final of League cup, in the nextstage of Europa league. You could still end up with 3 trophies this season.
