No for the simple reason that means Young will be at RB and he is dire.

Not against Pogba at the LW position. We're somewhat stacked at CM, just with mediocrity unfortunately.

When Diogo goes marching down the wing Dalot, Dalot!

Is Valencia still unfit? He could be an option on the right wing...

I find it odd that people want Dalot to start over young, Dalot looks so weak in that position. Great going forward but not at all ready to start in that position. I think he would be more suited to playing the RW role as you suggested. Nice idea.

Tempting to put pogba into a no10 role with lukaku and rashford ahead.

I think Dalot is defensively suspect so not against it.

Bailly, Jones, Lindelof and Smalling have all played right back for us and country. Drop one of them in there. Not as if we get much from Young in that position.

What's odd about it? The only way Dalot is going to learn and improve is by playing in that position.

Just because he is a threat going forward, it doesn't mean he should play as a winger. He's better having space to run into from a deeper area rather than being stationed further forward. You'd also take away some of his early crossing ability by playing him higher, not that it's something we really utilise but still.

I’d rather have Mata in the big games than a relatively unproven youth playing out of position.

Play him against Hazard then?

Young against Hazard doesn't sound any better.

Sometimes you have to trust in younger players.

This.

Only can gain experience from it. I mean he hasn’t looked AWFUL in the games he’s played at RB?

Young is far worse and can’t even cross. He’s not good defensively or even good attacking anymore

If Dalot starts this game i wouldn't be shocked if it's down the left to give Shaw a break. I really don't think Ole would chuck him in against arguably the best LW in the league. I could be wrong of course but it's unlikely.

-------------------------------------------------

No he hasn't and it's not as if he's played a lot either or been allowed to establish any sort of playing rhythm.

I think he's made consecutive appearances once.

Thought he looked pretty suspect at times against Fulham too. I wouldn't play him against Hazard and I don't think Ole will either.

posted on 15/2/19

Nah we have better options, even if they aren’t ideal.

posted on 16/2/19

He isn't ready to start against the better players. He is still suspect defensively and Hazard is the best LWF in the league. While Young isn't great he is the best option there.

The options we have there aren't the best. Dalot isn't ready. Young and Valencia aren't at the level we want at RB. We do need a ready made one for next season unless we will let Dalot and TFM try and claim the spot.

It's go 3-5-2 until they are back.

Dalot would suit the RWB position better.

We should just give Chong and Gomes a go... get some pace up there. Terrible that our “new style” under Ole will now suffer so much just for losing 2 players to injury (albeit very important players).

When was the last time Liverpool, Chelsea etc lost the likes of Salads, Mane and Willian, Hazard at exactly the same time, with massive games to come 😭😭😭

Time for a diamond in midfield perhaps and two up front.

Matic, Herrera, Fred and Pogba with the latter two providing some width feeding Lukaku and Rashford up front. If the front two spilt out wide that could enable space for midfield runners to capitalise. The four in the middle should also allow for some control in there.

I also wouldn't 100% rule out Martial or Lingard making it for Liverpool. It wouldn't be the first time a United manager has said some selection porkies.

Maybe a little unfair on Chong to move an underperforming, young RB into RW before him.

Think we lose our next two games regardless. Without martial and Lingard we lack movement and teams can attack us knowing we don't have a threat on the counter.

Wazzock

Anyone would think you want to weaken the chances.

Lingard being unavailable is a godsend (god doesn't exist before you ask), best not waste the opportunity by playing an inexperienced liability and then playing him out of position .......

....... although that does seem to be some new kind of 'norm' at the club
