I didn't say I'd stop supporting United. That will never happen. I said I'd stop giving them my money. If someone else takes my place, which they obviously will, then fair enough. That's their choice. Free will and all that jazz.

And to answer the Bertie before bringing up Facebook and Apple.....do they have people killed?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Did Jeff Bezos kill people? You choose your morals selectively so it seems.

The way I look at it, if the Glazers don’t sell then FSG might and then we are truly f*cked.
---------------------------------------------------------------------

They would fit better with Liverpool in fairness. They have the murder thing in common.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Low even for you.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Why is it? I didn't kill any Italian fans.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You’re an absolute mug. You are quick to cry about people doing aeroplane signs at United fans, and rightly so, but then come out with that rubbish.

Nope. However his company has killed our nation's high street. Still death involved.

I do love this though. Being scrutinized because I actually do care about these matters. I can use any company I want to and avoid any I wish too. Just like you can.

I don't buy virgin products either as the owner is one of the biggest tax dodgers in the world too.

I find his stance pretty disingenuous and comes across more as a means of point scoring against City.

I bet he still has a Facebook account, drinks nestle coffee, has an iPhone, buys things of amazon, eats Cadbury’s chocolate and fills his car up at shell.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He's not buying of Amazon and doesn't drink Star Bucks coffee

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Don't have an iPhone either. Android user.

All this is nonsense though. These companies don't kill people do they? I'm being scorned for being against a regime that kills people buying my club. Funny old world.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Erik while I do not agree with you verbage (#moral highground) i share your sentiment to a degree. But who am I to judge the opininions of other who don't share the same sentiment.

I think this article typifies society today, everyone gets butthurt by the opinions of others because it somehow goes against theirs and make them feel they are under attack and feel the need to attack/belittle that person.

It was a tongue in cheek comment in fairness and slightly bad taste I will accept

The entire Stretford end will be chanting it in two weeks though. Just be aware.

I never like the idea that if you make astand against something people say " Ah but what about x y and z". Any stand is worth taking, I think they are a despicable regime , there may be others as bad, but they are not buying the club I support.
If I don't like the man my daughter is going out with, it doesn't make me feel better to know there are others the same or worse.

And there will be scousers chanting Munich, that’s how a minority of football fans are. Doesn’t mean you have to drag yourself down to the knuckle head mentality that they possess.

every single person on this planet does, we are all hypocrites

but that is no reason to attack people when they choose to stand for something by saying why did they not stand for the other 1 billion other things they could stand for.

Eric started it to be fair, I then questioned his moral high ground. But you make a good point. Don't disagree with that.

If the Saudi royal family owned Manchester United, principled supporters would have a great opportunity to make regular demonstrations about human rights at home matches. It would give us leverage to embarrass and pressurise an authoritarian state we could otherwise only dream of. I'm all for it.

Why do you need to have Saudi owners to demonstrate? Whats holding you back to take a banner to the game now and demonstrate against the Saudis?

posted on 17/2/19

Glazers would never get a better exit option than this alleged offer from The Saudis. So they would of course snap their hands off...

If it was true.

Which, as it's penned by the Mail, is highly unlikely.

posted on 17/2/19

I’ld Stop following the club unfortunately. I can’t stand what they represent and their disregard for human rights. Hope the glazers won’t sell.

This could make my team better and I don't want it. That's because I have morals. City fans couldn't care less clearly because they are a tin pot club without the human rights abuser bankrolling their club.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I’m not sure you do have morals as such, judging by this thread. You have selective morals and partial ignorance, same as most people.

I’ve never agreed with those that think exclusion is the best or only way to affect change either.

Good job they weren't in ownership when DDG first signed. Would probably have chopped off his hands for that unfortunate doughnut incident.

I can never quite tell whether you're facetious or just thick, Hulk. In case it's the latter, the point is that random people protesting against random thing will get no headlines and no traction; whereas United fans having a go at their own proprietors in and around the stadium would get plenty of media attention. Given that this hypothetical purchase would be all about PR, having negative publicity around it would undermine the whole vanity project.
