I have seen a five man shortlist in a number of places and he's not on any of them. I don't think he's got a chance basically. No experience whatsoever in that kind of role.
As much as w love him, it would be an idiotic appointment
Easy money for the bookies
Would be a recipe for disaster imo

It would be amazingly hilarious but we'd probably end up getting relegated.

Why would we?
I think the only reason he's favourite is because of an Instagram post he made a couple of weeks ago which said "I can't tell you anything but you will love it!". He had United tagged in it so it inevitably led people to think it was about him becoming our DoF.
I don't see him as a realistic option.
I would think VDS would be the front runner here.
I may be wrong, but Cantona comes across as being a bit too impulsive for a role that requires devising and implementing a medium to long term strategy. I do think the club could benefit from his presence in some other capacity though.
Cantona as DoF sounds good, it sounds great actually but that's the heart rather than the head talking. It wouldn't be a decision based on clear and rational thinking.
We can't take a risk by bringing in a complete novice to fill whatever type of role it is we want this position to be.
Be worth is just for the fireworks.
He's favourite because people are betting on him and the bookies are reacting to that. Your man Monchi has a good reputation but I have a feeling Arsenal have him lined up
....... and it just get dafter
When the time calls for clear thinking, the capacity to strategise mid and long term (relatively speaking) and to just get the basics right, an 'idea' like this hits the discursive environment.
And I use the term 'idea' in it's loosest, most general, sense.

Can’t see him leaving Ajax
Vds, just see cantona doing that role, we need someone with proven experience, and should be casting the net wide.
