Even at the start of the season this year, having come 2nd last season, we were the lowest in terms of sprints, work rate etc. That's just how he set us up. Nothing changed in terms of effort from the players imo. Especially as we were just as bad when his 'favourites' like Matic, Lukaku and Fellaini were regularly playing ahead of others.
People confuse being shiyte with downing tools.
Do people really think if our players tried a bit harder we'd have been performing like we are under Ole now?

These pundits analysing the game afterwards, creating little triangles on the pitch through their iPads where players aren't standing is all a load of rubbish. Technology used to offer nothing other than shapes on a pitch. A good pundit is just a person whose good at talking in hindsight

Players can be good/bad without it being because they've downed tools.
They might not be fitting in well with the system the team is playing, they might be low on confidence, they could just be shiyte.

One thing I don't think anyone can deny is the overall 'feel that Mourinho was casting over Utd as a club was holding them back. Look at the demeanour or Klopp, Pep, Poch compared to Mourinho. Even Sarri is starting to go the same way.
Things like complaining he didn't get a defender, where Poch tells us how important it is to believe in what you have. Going to Anfield and the Etihad and surrendering two thirds of the pitch. No way Utd would do that now.
The age old saying applies here:

It was clear to see that Jose would never be the man to nurture our talent as he is the epitome of the 'all stick, no carrot method', which though can be effective if you want quick results, but less so in the longer run - evident from his previous stints.
As he wasn't able to generate results immediately and our rivals pulled further away from us, he became increasingly desperate and resorted to his usual deflection tactic which is to create drama within the squad in order to divert attention away from the real problem - he himself.
I am not privy to what the atmosphere on here was like, but one can only imagine that there were a fair few who stuck by him to the bitter end making endless excuses about backing or a lack of, whilst ignoring the proverbial elephant in the room which was that despite points totals and trophies and spending a huge amount of money, the football was atrocious and that's mostly on Jose.
I for one am glad that OGS is doing well and even more so as it further accentuates just how bad a job Jose was doing.

If it was only Pogba that apparently "downed tools" this would be an issue. THE WHOLE TEAM WERE HORRIBLE. Fack even De Gea lost form. Its crazy.
Pogba is a big game player. He always turns up and makes the difference in the big games. Just you wait and see in the game against PSG in a couple of weeks. We are not out of this tie because we have Pogba. That's the difference.
