Pogba or Gray, Pogba or Gray. It’s such a hard decision to work out who is better.

Pogba maybe has the strength but I think Gray beats him on potential he’ll probably never fulfil.

Well lets hope that Palace do take notice of these stats and attempt to mark Gray out of the game.....that should free space up for Maddison or Vardy etc.

That bit had me in tears. It's a real shame that the transfer window has closed as otherwise we could see if maybe United wanted to do a swap deal like we've just done for Silva/Tielemans?

"However, they should not ignore one of City’s options who has been quietly effective in recent games, Demarai Gray."

Personally I'd have to disagree with the journalist here as I'd describe Gray as being loudly ineffective.

I would have said
Quietly ineffective 😲

And for those who reckon Gray shouldn't be anywhere near the no 9 position, it looks like you may be disappointed as the Gray experiment is set to continue:

Just waiting for Claude to announce he's going to be better than Thierry Henry (be good if he was but he may have to improve a smidgeon).

Gray tired out the defence so Vardy could score???

Sweet mother of God
Just as the edjet gets people on side
He starts talking about grey up front and Mendy being available 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️😳

Shirley he would play Barnes up front for 45
Grey on the wing and at half time
If grey isn't trying Barnes to the wing grey off vardy on,, this I could understand,
And Mendy just no no no no no
We have No easy games coming up we are playing teams near or in religation battles or teams pushing for 7th,
I don't have a problem with experimenting
But either for the last 20 mins
Or ones that make sense 😳

So we're not going for 7th then 🤷‍♀️

Claude Puel holds talks with Kasper Schmeichel over father's comments on Leicester City

So kasper dropped for Saturday then?

You want to be in that meeting, find out who's the boss or not

Well when Ward is picked for tomorrow's starting line up, will Claude explain that he's 'just trying out options' and that 'there's no problem between me and Kasper - he'd have been disciplined if there was'?

posted on 22/2/19

I love it how The Schmeichels are completely innocent in all this. Puel basically gets insulted on live TV by Kaspers dad and he still gets stick for it.

I reckon what PS said was pretty poor; if it came from KS then it's fairly disgraceful. I suppose it fills some sensational column inches. I'll still be interested to see if Claude goes for one of his famed experiments, if he doesn't is he reacting differently to the Vardy episode?

posted on 22/2/19

No one in their right mind wants to see the club airing its dirty laundry in public. Puel sent a clear message to JV last week and you’d expect that. He would have started Iheanacho but we all know that you might as well play with 10 men, so he obviously feels Gray is his only other option. If we had a decent second striker then it would be fairly straightforward.

I expect Kasper to start - depends on how the conversation has gone behind closed doors. Whether he starts or not - expect Puel to get absolutely slated either way by our completely balanced fan base

I'm not particularly fussed about it, just curious. If KS has wound up his dad and indicated that everything would be fine provided the club got a decent manager in, that is far worse than what Vardy did.

So why wouldn't Claude send a clear message to Kasper in the same way?

posted on 22/2/19

I think better of Kasper Schmeichel than to deliberately undermine the manager by getting his dad to do his dirty work. His career has been all about trying to step out of his father’s shadow and stand for himself rather than hiding behind him. That scenario just doesn’t ring true to me.

What does ring true is that he might have moaned about the situation to his family, believing it would be kept amongst themselves. I don’t think he deserves criticism for that. Everyone needs someone to sound off to when they’re feeling frustrated about life. That Peter should sound off about it was, frankly, a gaffe. It was stupid, and he should have realised the connection everyone would make, whether it came from his own observations or listening to his son complaining. I hope for both his and Kasper’s sake that he learns better discretion in the future.

I'd like to agree with this, but I'm just not sure.

I did initially set out some reasons why but I've deleted them and I'm calling it quits on this part of the thread - like I said previously, I'm not that fussed about this point.
