He can't really argue against it, that side at that time was phenomenal
I've seen people call them boring, time to take up another sport maybe
Still the best manager out there though
It'll end up the same for Zidane. He'll only have won it because he had Ronaldo in his team.
I find Pep's style boring to be honest.
Great players playing possession based football is decent to watch if their are two sides both capable of playing that way.
Against lesser sides it's mind numbingly boring.
Still the best manager of his generation.
Best coach of top class players.
Hasn't shown, in my view, that he can do it without a huge budget and also hasn't shown enough youth development - which is a surprise given his history with Barca.
Huge praise for what he has done but equally an understanding of what appear to be his limitations.
That's why manager's like SAF will be regarded as better in my view, unless something changes.
Fair play, I can think of a certain manager who would have threw his toys out the pram at that question.

He’s always said it and I’ve always said the same, ultimately it’s about the players.

not a cool, classy or sincere guy at all

If you look at Utd during and after Jose left, you'd have to admit management plays a big part.
There are numerous examples of this.
However you'd have to think that Barca side would have succeeded under any manager eventually.
It would be interesting to have seen how many he would have won had he stayed at Barca. I think it would have been a couple more than he has done, he was the perfect coach for that group of players.
Anyone who actually calls Pep a fraud is an idiot.
I think there was also a hint of sarcasm in there

I was being a bit simplistic with that comment. Management absolutely does but at the top end, you have to have the players too. Management is about creating the environment and conditions to allow those players to play at their top potential - it’s that difference that ultimately decides it.

That's not the only thing that management involves, though.
Some managers will develop a player - sometimes a limited player - to play in his system and perform well.
Some managers won't, and would prefer to buy a player closer to the finished article.

I was including that in my comment too. Guardiola has done that as well though

Not much he hasn't.
Largely he's gone out and spent a fortune for any position where he doesn't feel he has the right player.
And I await any sign that Foden will be a regular starter for him... over a year has gone by since we last talked about it and he's still picking up embarrassingly few minutes.
If you find Guardiola and his teams boring, football is not for you.
The intelligence, the work put in, the understanding of patterns the players show is nothing short of extraordinary. When they gave us that beating in the Wembley champions league final, part of me was not upset because we were well and truly beaten, even Ferguson accepted it.
The 5-1 win over Real Madrid is the most perfect performance from any side I've ever seen.
I’ll reply later as busy at the minute but I disagree winston, there’s evidence at every club he has done that. I think you’re comparing apples and pears a bit though, he doesn’t buy or sell players like Ferguson did.
