I want you to outline the criteria you use to decide who is better at passing.
You clearly have one as you've applied it but you don't seem willing to share it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Well I use my eyes. If somebody states I'm wrong then I compare their stats to see if I'm missing something. Henderson has a better pass percentage. When somebody states that Henderson passes sideways and backwards and next to his teammates, I used average pass length and total forward passes, again Henderson comes out on top.
What would you use? What evidence can you put forward to support the claim that Herrera is a better passer of the football than Henderson?

You've completely moved the goalposts.
What actually happened was that someone said they thought Herrera is a better passer. You accused them of being a wum.
I used that as an example of why debating this subject with you is pointless. You told me it's a fact.
So, stop using lies to try and squirm out of it and answer the question.
If it's a fact that Henderson is a better passer rather than an opinion, what is the criteria used? Which stats and what weighting for each stat?
It's a perfectly reasonable question.

The evidence comes from watching them play football, nothing else matters really. After that it's opinion. Generally I like Toor, but this argument is very poor.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Both for me. If somebody tells me Henderson makes less forward passes than Herrera and uses that as evidence and I go check the stats and they say that Henderson actually makes more forward passes, you'll be damn sure I'll be believing the stats, rather than what somebody claims they have watched. Especially if it's bias which has them thinking the opposite of what the stats say, which appears to be the case here.

Having better stats in certain recorded criteria does not make it so. Those stats are relevant, of course, but I have already given you a good reason why they may be misleading.

You haven't given me a good reason at all. You stated that Herrera's forwards passing stats would be less due to him playing under Mourinho and his more restrictive approach(not your exact words in case you accuse me of lying). I stated this proved the point even more as even with the more restrictive approach and Herrera being required to play more safe passes, he still has a lesser pass percentage, despite the risk being less.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yes and each thing people tried to say affected them I showed favoured Henderson. You tried tactics/manager meaning Herrera was more restricted, which means safer passes, which would mean he should have a better pass percentage. He doesn't. Team performance? What has that got to do with kicking a football to a teammate? You've either made a successful pass or you haven't. How does the teams performance change that? Same with teammates. Unless Herrera keeps passing the ball to somebody who let's the ball roll under his foot each time?
The simple fact is that nobody has offered anything to suggest what Herrera is actually better at apart from passing which the stats show is incorrect if your eyes don't do it for you.
You stated "I think Herrera adds more to the team personally" and yet won't tell me what it actually is that he adds more of.
There'sOnlyOneReds (U1721)
I'm not going to go through every possible tactical scenario to show you why stats can be misleading - there are other factors at play as well... players in and out of the team being less in tune with each other etc.
The point stands - you can use stats to back up an opinion but nothing more.
I'd tend to agree with you that if you back up your opinion with stats vs someone who just has an opinion from watching them on TV, you could feasibly claim more credibility.
But you can't claim it as a fact.
The reason I haven't even begun to outline the reason for my views is because of this whole point. There's no point whatsoever when you're so entrenched and deluded as to what a fact is, and so unable to accept alternative opinion.
Oh and by the way, a quick 'yes, sorry, you didn't say what I accused you of' wouldn't go amiss.

Oh and TOOR, I'm still waiting for your criteria. If you claim that your stats offer a cast iron factual outcome regarding who is the best passer, there should be a clear criteria that we can apply to all player comparisons.
Why haven't you shared it?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Am I going insane or did I not already tell you on numerous occasions that I stated Henderson had a better pass completion percentage. Somebody then stated he plays easy passes sideways and backwards and then I showed average pass length and forward pass total proved this incorrect.
How many times do I have to say this to stop you asking?

I'm not going to go through every possible tactical scenario to show you why stats can be misleading - there are other factors at play as well... players in and out of the team being less in tune with each other etc.

If you told me what I accused you off that is incorrect that would help.

And how many times do I need to explain this.
You claim the stats prove as a fact that Henderson is a better passer.
I'm asking you to list the criteria and weighting for you to make that statement.
Showing you've rebuffed criticism of Henderson with a specific stat is not what I asked.

Be sure to let me know when I said Herrera is a better passer than Henderson, won't you.

Tbf I'm not actually sure now and may have assumed but I'm also not going to check. That's because if you don't/haven't offered an opinion on that subject and yet have written all that you are in the wrong place for what you want.
Here: http://bfy.tw/MOto
That's for you. This is a SPORTS FORUM you mentalist.

So you're wrong but everything is all my fault.
Great stuff.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It's not anyone's 'fault' Winston. Sounds like you're going to cry ffs.
Toor is offering an opinion on football and then debating it.
You're, well, I'm not sure what you're doing but it looks like you're debating how debate is correct in syntax, semantics and logic in your opinion when someone is offering an opinion on football. Is that right?
Why?
