in the last few years, since i've experienced poor sleep, i nearly always wake up with a v sore throat
could this be a sign of sleep apnea ?

There is a questionnaire test called the Epworth scale that you can use to determine your ‘sleepiness’. They are quite simple/rudimentary questions but still often used by a doctor if OSA / any other sleep disorder is a differential
But it’s also available online if anyone wants to use it

Its possible , do you get headaches and fall asleep easily , ie watching tv, meetings that sort of thing?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
sometimes yes
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Go see a doctor and tell him at the worst you will find out after a sleep study .

My brother has sleep apnoea, which was making his already-high blood pressure even worse. He's asthmatic too (he got all the bad genes ) so quite a lot of risk factors.
He had a FESS procedure about 6 weeks back - Functional Endoscopic Sinus Surgery - which basically involves widening the nasal passages to help them drain more effectively, I think. Prevent blockages which (I think) is aimed at preventing the apnoea.
I think his BP was more of a concern than the apnoea itself, which is why they did the surgery - very recent so I don't know if it's been a success, but might be worth asking your doc about it. My brother's follow-up check is this afternoon actually.
I've always slept well, too well if I'm honest (not trying to be a d**k and rub it in on this thread).
I can fall asleep easily on a train/plane journey which is handy at times. I don't think it's an issue or problem as It's not like I fall asleep without trying, or feel tired at work etc, but if I want to get my head down on a flight, or even in the car I can do.
Trouble is I don't move at all in my sleep, like an inch. My missus tells me this too. So I fall asleep at night, wake up 7 hours later for work in the exact position, usually aching or if I get up fast or slightly sideways our of bed I feel like I've pulled a muscle/trapped a nerve. If I fall asleep in an awkward position I'm paying for it the next few days, so after going out drinking it's a problem.
I had it couple of years back after gaining loads of wait. I did a test and could see I was not getting enough oxygen when sleeping and snoring was bad. Really weird that I was falling asleep in random places. Even when I got 10 hour sleep, I still felt tired and needed more sleep.
Went away after losing weight.

This thread has also reminded me I also need to see a doctor to have him ram a finger up my Arsenal.
