JAap Stam was the best defender in the league for 2 seasons. Such a mistake getting rid of him, brilliant player. If he’s stayed he’d have been a premier legend.

One of the greatest players to grace the league as a whole, let alone just from Holland.
RVN obviously scored more gaols and won more but I'd say in terms of pure technical ability, I'd have RVP ahead of him.

Must have been high clearly. Stam was a lynchpin in a treble winning side. So tell me how it’s biased to not think he should be above Dijk who is a good defender but has achieved very little so far.

I dunno, VVD has been to a CL final and only been at Liverpool a year.
Van Der Vaart won nothing and got to no finals, same as Davids so why would they be ahead?
