He was Just a better player and had a football mind few possess.

Nonsense. Better mind maybe? Better player? Robben is probably the second most successful winger or the last 15 or so years. 10 league titles and a champions league winner (scoring the winner). His career overall is much much better

Title wise he had a better career although that has been boosted by playing in a one team league for over a decade but he wasn’t as good a player as Bergkamp imo. Amazing player though.

Best Dutchman in PL. Why do you think Davids is last, out of interest?

Vvd hasn't done enough yet to make that list

Let's pick a greatest Dutch premier league starting 11

Grow up and go to a game

I've been to plenty, what's your problem with my suggestion of picking a greatest Dutch premier league 11?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It’s boring and you should be watching your team play

Agree to disagree. 3 different league titles being a top 3 player in each team. both great players but I reckon most cbs would rather play against bergkamp even if there was a threat of some magic he’d pull out.

it’s a close call tbf both unbelievable players. I have a soft spot for that Arsenal team Bergkamp played in as they played such great football so maybe I’m a bit biased.

I’d actually agree Robben has been a better player than Bergkamp over his career, all things considered. Proven himself as a top player in three different leagues, the CL and was more instrumental at international level in an inferior team. Bergkamp was a more gifted, and intelligent, footballer, however.

I know. What I'm saying is most of Robben's best performances came when he left the PL.

Van Persie is so overrated.

Agree.

He had like three top seasons and a host of average ones.

He scored over 18 league goals twice. There's wingers who did better than that. Salah is going to do it in his first two seasons at Liverpool.

I think he’s regarded so highly because he dragged us to a title. Not to mention he scored so many great goals.

I probably would have van Persie a lot lower on that list.

Bergkamp was pure class. So silky smooth when he graced the pitch.

But I’m surprised that RVN scored only 15%.

I think VDS scores lower largely because he was a goal keeper. Although great goalkeepers are fondly remembered, it still tends to be the outfield players who get glorified more.

Not to take anything away from Bergkamp being voted best ever Dutchman. No issue with that.

Everyone's talking about bergkamp like he was some George best or maradona standard player.

Think you all need to pipe down a little bit.

Personally think vds is the most overrated gk of the pl era

Greg maybe it’s a bit of nostalgia with bergkamp. Never done much on the games I saw him live tbf. But was amazing at times

I personally think it’s a shame that VDS didn’t join us earlier. But he was often Mr Reliable in between the posts for us. I guess as it tends to be with goal keepers, they peak at a later stage in their careers and often continue that longevity a little longer. So in that respect we still got him at a decent period in his career.

I think with some players, such as Bergkamp yes you could argue that it is partially blinded by nostalgia. But certain players like that do carry that aura around when they do their magic.

He was largely anonymous in most games I watched him in for arsenal and would pop up with an assist or goal every other game.

He was nowhere near the class of Thierry Henry, who is the main reason for two of arsenal's PL titles.

Some of the stuff bergkamp pulled off though was nice to watch but I agree, it is definitely nostalgia with all these posters on here! Everyone is going nuts.

I'd much rather have an on form van persie or rvn over bergkamp.

Never saw the fuss with Van Der vart either.

Robben, absolutely hated him as a player because United always seemed to be on the end of his wonder goals , but probably would've loved him if he was at United.
Hate the way he runs.... Like sterling.

Loved overmars

Henry was in another realm. He was even more silky smooth .

He was the prodigal son to Wenger, kind of like how Ronaldo is/was to SAF.
