Sadly you're right. Your comment though suggests you are annoyed with me for not realizing that - but I do. I understand Sarri's desire to have a regista play in that slot - and I also understand that Kante is not the ideal candidate to play that role. But surely at home in the Europa league, after being 1-0 up from the first leg, he could afford to try something new? Just see if Kante is in fact the best defensive midfield player in the world. It's worth a shot right?
Kovacic is showing why Jorginho's so important to holding the system together. Sarri really should change it up if he's not playing cos there really is no point, Fabregas was the only player we have who came close to doing what he does.

Agree - that was my point really. Jorginho can play in that regista position (albeit he seems unable to do so against any decent team nowadays). But if Jorginho is not playing, we may as well try something else, as nobody else can do.
In Jorginho's defence, I have read Sarri say that the players around Jorginho are not moving the ball quickly enough, which makes things much more difficult for Jorginho - so he is the one who looks bad and receives all the criticism. Which I accept - I don't think our poor form is just down to him. But the trouble is, we obviously don't have the personnel to play this system, which suggests Sarri should at least have a plan B.
