Feel I should address the elephant in the room; probably a wildly unpopular opinion, but I think Firmino is the best of Liverpool's front three. I think he's absolutely class, and makes the other two tick. You could very easily interchange Rash & Ant-Man in that team for Mane and Salah, because with Bobby up top, the pace & link-up that all four of them possess would be absolutely deadly (indeed, as it currently is with Liverpool).

I think Salah's off the ball movement in second to none, which is why he scores so many, but I reckon Firmino & Martial in particular are better technical footballers. Rashy is 21, still has a lot of time to develop that consistent end product; some days he is simply unplayable.

Defence picks itself, particularly full backs. Pogba on the condition that you get the one that actually plays. Herrera player reborn. Winjnaldum Mr Reliable. I'd have Rashford as the impact sub.

Pretty easy really

Would probably go with this as of now. Would potentially swap Herrera/Henderson for Fabinho though.

TAA---Lindelof---VVD---Robertson
----Wijnaldum--Fabinho

Salah-----Rashford---Martial

*This is a side I'd pick based on the now and the future. If it were a side being picked to play tomorrow it would be a little different, Mane would be in, Fabinho maybe out.

A lot of people putting Rashford over Firmino? I like Rashford but he’s not better than him Yet.

To be totally serious, only Pogba gets into the Liverpool side.

Martial could possibly play instead of Firmino but then you're just decreasing Salah & Mane's impact on the game.

posted on 22/2/19

Yes fraud. The guy took over a team that's downed tools for the previous manager and so are obviously gonna perform hugely better for whoever comes in as the new manager. Win a few games when literally anyone would have won in his circumstances and he's already being compared with top class managers like Pockets. It's ridiculous.

Mane is pretty hit and miss from what I see of him. Always dangerous but inconsistent in his finishing and final pass.

In the PL, Mane has 23 starts, 1 sub appearance, 12 goals and 1 assist. 58 shots.

By contract, Martial has 15 starts, 5 sub appearances, 9 goals and 2 assists. He rarely finished a game under Jose either. 30 shots.

Playing Marital out wide is probably the worst thing you can do to him as a player.

This Liverpool side is still virtually the same side as last season when they scraped 4th and played in the most embarrassing final in Champions League history.

People need to stop overeating them, good side but they have plenty of gash players in that starting 11.

Yeah I have long been an advocate of playing Martial up front. Right now though Rashford leading the line sets the tone for our pressing.

The key for Martial playing wide is getting him one on one with a full back, when we do that with any kind of regularity he tends to cause havoc.

Klopp has tweaked them tactically. Less of the "heavy metal" style he is famed for when they blow sides out of the water in 30 minute spells.

There's a little more scraping wins but they're keeping clean sheets and look more solid as a unit. Good management. Time will tell whether fatigue takes less of an effect with the new tactics.

Busby

You can see them getting fatigued in games already, same as last season. They press with intensity at the beginning and then completely slow down, they are getting tired.

If we don’t concede in the first half, we’ll win in my opinion.

The grieving process is taking longer than we feared. Chin up, Wahl. Acceptance will come.
