Goddamit man, this is serious stuff we are discussing here! This isn’t some flippant discussion about a half hearted title challenge!!

I would leave Celtic, but not to join Leicester. Why would you risk your reputation which has grown again to join a club that goes through a permanent cycle of sacking the manager? I'd be waiting for the Everton job to come up.

With Chelsea and Arsenal to come I reckon they should be supporting us today. United may catch them and they could finish 4th in a 3 horse race.

Remember he also did well at Swansea, so he may well be a good appointment, if he wants to get out of his current comfort zone into a more challenging role. He's also had some experience in the Championship if the worst happens.

Benitez has bigger fish to fry I expect.

Leicester is a pretty big upgrade from Celtic and can't see him getting a better job in the prem. I would assume he would go if offered.

I think it would be a sales job on our part. However, if he’s looking to leave Celtic anyway to go back to the Prem, us and potentially Everton are the obvious places. I don’t think Chelsea would go for him.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
An upgrade how? Cos you get between £100 & £150m from tv instead of under £5m like Celtic get. Not an upgrade in any other way.

Based on title success or any recent silverware to speak of, they would be an upgrade for Pochettino so he could go there.

Is it 19 years now?

Outside of the top 6, it’s the lure of the PL and money to spend that I think draws a manager rather than a specific club most of the time. It helps he’s had one of our players and with the way we are pushing youth...it certainly wouldn’t be a straight forward choice for him but he surely would be tempted

I think the main ‘upgrade’ being spoke of would be PL football, you have side stepped that completely.

Chelsea seem to always want some European manager that they pluck out the air. If they decided to go for a home grown manager it could be him as he has worked at other levels at Chelsea and knows the club. Personally I don't think they would go for him.

That was 20 years ago, when the Scottish league was a fairly respectable standard. Times have changed significantly.

Celtic used to be one of Europeans great teams and could compete among them, nowadays they are a feeder club to bottom half premier league teams. Sad to see as I’m fond of Celtic but it’s the truth.

Leicester is unarguably a step up for BR.

posted on 24/2/19

Let’s face it, Leicester are also rans in an over hyped league with little or no chance of getting into European competitions. The only thing they have is tv money. 60,000 every home game, silverware, European footaball? No no no

I think you are underestimating the lure of just competing as a manger in the PL - top 6 or not. I agree about the fantastic support at Celtic, winning a league (albeit not a top one but it’s still winning a league) and European football - but I think managers view it slightly differently.

Rodgers could win the SPL the next ten years in a row and barely enhance his reputation.

If he goes to Leicester and does a good job, his next job would likely be one of the top 6.

It's a no brainer for him if offered the job. Leicester have a good squad and there's a lot of potential to work with.
