You think the rules back you up because you're stupid.
He didn't spread his body with the intention of using his arms to block the ball, which is what you're basically claiming. His arms were where you'd expect them to be as part of a natural movement.
If you expect a player who is moving, to have his arms down by his side the whole time, then you're an idiot. It's why Ferdinand looked like he wanted to punch Walton last night.
Anyone with common sense knows it was a crazy decision but unfortunately we now have a growing number of idiots who think they can redefine words to back up their point.
It really is that simple and there's nothing more for me to say on the matter.

This really. What to stop someone just jumping and turning with their arms out and then just saying 'bygones' or something.
As said I think it was harsh but can see why the ref gave it. His arm is moving towards the ball and it's made his body bigger. I've thrown many a punch with my eyes closed, oops. Tough one for the ref though.
Not sure what the ref was doing with all the extra time either fwiw.

He came from the side of the ball and didnt get I front of it at any time, apart from his arm, which was away from his body. Turning his back whilst jumping in with his arm doesn't mean it wasn't intentional, in regards to the guidance referees are given to determine it. This is exactly what VAR was brought in for and it works and proves Winston's previous nonsense wrong. That's why he's so angry, he's rather be right than United go through.

Still makes me laugh that he spent weeks arguing that Salah was fouled, calling it 100% a foul, but he didn’t even know which law was relevant. He still doesn’t.

In intelligence he’s way off. He’s a middle manager who needs things in neat boxes.
He doesn’t understand the laws of the game and he doesn’t understand the difference between fact and opinion.
I do enjoy destroying him on here though.
I don't go on for days any more as I realised I can never win, he is more stubborn and has more dedication. I admire this, especially when he seems to be saying the opposite as everybody else, most of the time.
