Young players who've done well
Maddison

Guendouzi
Rashy

Depends who wins it.

VVD if Liverpool do.

Sergio or Sterling if City do.

I have to agree It'd look silly if city win a treble (favourites for that) or a quadruple and then don't have player of year or manager of year.

Personally for me its between VVD n Fernandinho, both the main key players this season for the top 2 teams and the ones i believe they miss the most whenever out. Sterling close behind.

Luke Shaw or Maddison for YPOTY. Haven't seen either have a bad game.

Van Dijk or Aguero for POTY.

As a side note I hate why these awards are done with a chunk of the season left. We've seen it happen many times where the winner is actually quite poor for 2-3 months after the votes are in. Should be done at season end.

It's mental, players vote in January I believe, maybe February.

So that means Salah is a likely winner, Liverpool were 10 points ahead and he was flying.

VVD by a country mile.

Best defender in the world by a distance.

I think the fact it's terribly hard to pick a winner shows where the PL is in terms of it's attraction to top players too.

You'd have to think players like Mbappe, Neymar, Ronaldo, Messi, Suarez, Griezmann would probably all win it.

I think if Hazard was at Liverpool or City he'd probably win easily.

Does he live on a different planet to Varane, Umititi, Godin, Chiellini and Ramos among others?

Bonucci and Chiellini is by far the best CB pairing. They can do things with a football VVD (and a lot of midfield players tbf) can only dream of.

It's wrapped up for Salah then, they won the league back then.

Aguero is the best shout if we win it I think. His work rate is phenomenal under Guardiola, plus if he wins golden boot, breaks hat trick record etc would be fitting.

VVD has had a good season, nothing more. How Aguero is never a contender is bewildering to me. I will have him all day of the week and twice on Sunday ahead of all of the aforementioned players

Aguero has been sensational any time I've watched him this year. Best out and out striker in the world atm. Must be a treat to watch in the flesh where you can see all of his movement.

Does anyone know that guy that goes to the Etihad? Maybe he can tell us.

Take away the fact that I’m a Liverpool fan for a moment - the idea that VVDs season has just been good is something that could only come from a place of bias or from someone who hasn’t seen a lot of his performances.

Liverpool went from having one of the most calamitous defences in Europe to arguably the best .. almost overnight.

We don’t have the best team but we clearly have the best player this season and that is Virgil Van Dijk.

I always find this difficult. Does a goalie ever win it, or a fullback? Plus I only watch United regularly though of course I see some others.
VVD probably but I would not argue against two or three others getting it.

If Ederson improves his goalkeeping (decent as it is atm) I could see him getting it in a season or two.

He is a phenomenal footballer and is a key part of their success. His ability with ball at feet is streets above anyone else in Europe atm.

Best player that can end up trophy less, nada this season. Can't be going around giving people the title of the best when they have won sweet all.

HJe's had far better than a good season, look at the numbers... more than enough data there to show he's had an outstadning one

Maybe your definition of outstanding is different to mine. Rio Ferdinand had an outstanding season 2007/08. Wes Brown had an outstanding season that season as well. VVD has had a good season thus far

It went to Salah last year

So far VVD for POTY with Sterling second.
Sterling for YPOTY with Rashford/Maddison second and third.

Still some time to go however.
