Deutsche Bank and Commerzbank Germany and the EU's largest economy's two biggest banks are literally on their knees.
The World's oldest bank Italy's Banca Monte dei Paschi di Sienna is teetering on insolvency needing a massive bailout in the hundreds of Billions of Euros!
The other PIGS Portugal,Greece and Spain's economies are all total and utter basket cases with youth unemployment at 50-75% in all of these countries.
The EU Titanic is sinking fast people it's the ONLY contracting/shrinking trading block on the planet, the UK needs to get all women and children on the lifeboats and row away fast before we get caught in the vortex as it snaps in half, then sinks beneath the waves heading for the bottom of the ocean and Davy Jones' Locker!
-------

If we leave the EU will be gone in 15 years I reckon. Maybe less.

I very much doubt that it will last 5 once they lose one of their largest net contributors such as the UK,who will plug the gap the incoming Albania,Turkey and Macedonia?

The fact that hardline Brexiters and Trump supporters (who increasingly overlap in that particular Venn diagram) regard George Soros as the epitome of evil is a very telling detail about how the right wing has been radicalised over the last five years or so. Soros isn't a force of the left. His foundation promotes strengthening of civil society against authoritarian states, and supports the rule of law and independent media.

For a generation, the right wing of politics in the Western world has tended to monopolise the votes of the more authoritarian tendencies within the electorate. (That's a quirk of time and place - Venezuela is a good current example of the left successfully harnessing the authoritarian impulse.) Even if they don't quite acknowledge it, what our right-wing today is actually gunning for are the tenets of liberal democracy itself. The judges are the enemy of the people; our state media should be pro-Brexit; parliament should be dissolved; disagreement with a narrowly defined interpretation of 'the will of the people' is 'treachery'. The one thing I'd ask of them is that they have the honesty to stop pretending they are the guardians of the flame of 'Britain's Finest Hour™'. If Churchill were around today, they'd denounce him as an antifa snowflake.

Feel free to use this platform to disparage the 'yellow jackets' outside Westminster who have yelled racially tinged abuse at MPs who don't support a hard Brexit over the last couple of months.

The "will of the people" phrase is a joke. These people would be against the will of nearly half the people who voted in the referendum. That's not the will of the people. The will of the people would be a large amount and even then, the will of the people isn't always right. If we had followed that, there would be in place many practices that are discriminatory to women, people of colour and the LGBT community.

The likes of the ERG and the Murdoch newspapers (and Fox news if we're broadening the analysis) aren't invested in accuracy. They're well into the post-truth world now, where it's about controlling the narrative, in other words - winning. "Will of the people" is the refrain of the autocrat the world over. It's very troubling that it has entered the British political lexicon.

Its when you hear some of the mental views on here than you realise that national referendums on single (any) issues is a really bad idea. Parliament should do what they are elected for. Direct policy and govern the country on our behalf and forget asking our Boaty McBoatface mentality plebiscite to instruct them.

Best way to solve a huge chunk of Brexit issues - give Northern Ireland back to the Irish. Gets rid of May once and for all too without the DUP there to prop her up.

WOW. What a price to pay for Brexit.

Destroy the Union (Hitler failed to do that) and start a new terrorist campaign in Ireland which would undoubtedly spill over onto UK mainland.

The Best way to solve the Brexit issue is to cancel it.

Anyway, I think most can guess where this is all heading. A second referendum where I’d be stunned if the same vote was arrived at.

Well, yes I suppose it is.

Impractical for every piece or legislation that goes through parliament... and most people are a bit thick on most things (see the above comments) and have attention spans of about 35 seconds and zero interest in politics..

So we appoint (so called) clever people to represent us.

Its a bit like how Solicitors started out.

I wouldn’t be surprised if there were a second referendum. I certainly wouldn’t be surprised if Remain won (in fact, I’d be amazed if not). I also think there would be actual riots. What a mess.
