Spurs will.get zero against Liverpool. Chelsea will get at least 1 point against us imo.

"The thread for those filtered by Sandy..."

Was actually surprised, thought I was going to need a 'filtered by Sandy and DJ' thread

I think City will win the league, tbh.

I think our loss against Arsenal was potentially huge and has made me really doubt finishing in the top 4.

Pretty generous to a Chelsea team who have won only 4 in their last 9, and who will be in the thick of the Europa League and on the hunt to win that.

It is a bit. Their game this weekend could be pivotal to their chances.

So Arsenal and Chelsea finishing on 75. We have to cement our goal difference advantage then.

I think it will get to a point where Europa will be their main focus, if it isn't already.

Arsenal:

Newcastle (H) - 3
Everton (A) - 1
Watford (A) - 0
Crystal Palace (H) - 3
Leicester (A) - 1
Brighton (H) - 3
Burnley (A) - 3
Wolves (A) - 0

Total - 14 points

That would give us 74 points. I'm not sure if that would be enough or not for top 4.

Think there is a tendency to over-emphasise our away form. Plus the teams we are away to all have pretty poor home records. All bar Wolves are bottom half.

Can't see us losing to Wolves on last day if we have a CL spot up for grabs and they are on the beach. We could have one eye on a EL final, I guess.

I personally think we'll beat Everton, Leicester and Watford to be honest, get 3rd spot, and go straight into the CL

DJ, I'm factoring in injuries, suspensions and whether we progress far in the EL, as fixture congestion would inevitably lead to fatigue.

In most seasons gone by, I would take 74 points, as it has previously been enough for 4th. But with how competitive it is, as there are 4 clubs competing for 2 spots, I don't know if it will suffice this time around.

posted on 13/3/19

We are the least likely of the 4 to progress in Europe at this moment though, tbf. Fixtures could change due to the FA Cup, which could cause Man Utd and Spurs especially I believe a pile up.

Samir, there are only 8 games left now, with possibly a few more EL games and we are apparently going for warm weather training this or next week, to combat exactly what you just said.

With our amazing away record you have us to draw at Wolves, but have Arsenal to win there despite a less than impressive away record.

I think 3 of the sides will finish within a few points of each other as in your OP (though I have no clue to the order I'd put them), but one side will suffer a bit of a dip and finish a fair bit lower.

Said a couple of months ago i could see Spurs finishing outside the top 4 and i still think that will be the case, you just can't do what they did last summer(or didn't do) and expect to not run out of steam.

United are a shoe in for top 4 and it will be close between Chelsea and Arsenal and Spurs for the other spot.

I know we are pretty good at home but Newcastle recently came up with good results and Palace are stronger away than at home. So our home games are not easy at all.
