6 new players!!!?

I'm assuming Ted means 6 new players are needed - not that he's actually expecting 6 new players to be bought. We know that ain't gonna happen.

6 new players would guarantee at least half would be crap. also starting with 6 new players in the first XI next season always will take some adjusting. We need to be starting with a new CM and RB next season for sure.

realistically then its adding a few more as improvements on Davies, Llorente, Lamela etc and properly replacing key players who leave.

Yeah, if Spurs don't get a new RB and CM in the summer that would be a disaster. That has to be the absolute bare minimum.

Assuming Alderweireld leaves then a CB is a necessity too, but anything beyond that is a bonus. To be honest I'm only expecting one, MAYBE two signings.

yeah but we need a VVD type signing which wont happen. We will only look for youngsters even though we already have 2. Will cost too much in the CB area where we need the cash to spend in 3 or 4 other areas first.

In theory moving Dier back to CB would be a decent solution, but I get the sense that he sees himself as a midfield hard man now and Pochettino is weirdly indulgent of some players.

Chilwell, Doucoure and Wan Bissaka. Zaha maybe.

Chilwell, Doucoure and Wan Bissaka would be a great window alone.

theres a fair few that we can/have to move on and can get decent fees. On top of the above a CAM and forward can be targeted.

Those three players would be upwards of £40m each, though.

I'm also not convinced Doucoure is the player to take Spurs up a level. He's decent, yeah, but he's not going to develop much more. Is there any point in Spurs buying another "good but not great" player? They need significant, not marginal improvements.

Ooops....

Ndombélé might be considered an upgrade but would undoubtedly cost more money if reports are true, 70+ million....
Doucoure I agree might not have stood out consistently but he’s proven EPL quality at least. We don’t have a good record of Ligue 1 transfers either. NJie, Stambouli, N’Koudou

True enough

Okay... for the record ........
Alderwiereld, is leaving. Top defender, must be replaced.
Eriksen is leaving ...he is a key player, replacement is a must.
Trippier/Aurier are not good enough... must be replaced.
Davies/Rose no longer up to standard ... must be replaced.
Llorente is a totally inadequate back-up for Kane. Need someone who is.
Vertonghen is 31 .... will he last another season at the top?
Wanyama .... what's happened to him?
By my count that's 6 positions that need replacing.

At least 4 of those positions need top class replacements (no el cheapo Aurier type of deals) .....
Alderweireld, Eriksen, RB and LB.
I don't see such replacements coming from the squad or academy .... Levy has to go out and spend. How he does it, dealing with the out going & in coming players is quite beyond my predictions.

But I say .... you can look forward to a totally new look on the pitch next season.
