If Fergie was in charge he would’ve been all over that signing. He’s a grafter and packed full of flare. Capable of winning games on his own.

I remember Stretty laughing his head off at it, although it’s not like that bloke is known for his football knowledge anyway.

He’s obviously a world class player now but people forget how inconsistent he was at Southampton and his first season at Liverpool.

Think he's scored something like 9 goals in his last 11 games now.

Sometimes goes through inconsistent patches but when he's on, he's on fire.

Big game player too.

He may not have developed as well under LVG and Jose though.

To be fair i remember a lot of Liverpool fans being angry at the price tag, i never understood that. But a lot were very on the fence about us signing him, it wasn’t just united fans who were like that.

He goes through patches where he’s nearly unplayable and carries our attack, happened in the run in to the season last year and the champions league final too. If he could stay at that level year round he’d be a really special player

His first goal was ridiculous.

He was clearly very talented and just needed nurturing though Bats. Klopp in hindsight was the perfect manager for him. So annoying that we missed out on him. Could’ve been our Saha.

He’s brilliant. Wouldn’t have been the same player for us, however.

A lot of his development goes down to Klopp. Arsenal fans freak out about us not trying to sign him when there is no way he would have developed this well under Wenger

Yep, but look at Martial under LVG. Mourinho would’ve loved him for his work rate too and given him free license to roam.

Same goes for VVD who has transformed into the best CB in the world over the last year. Never would have developed like that at Arsenal or probably even United for that matter

Also if we did end up signing him we wouldn’t have known if Rashford would emerge on the scene too. Hindsight I guess?

Funnily enough I know people who knew him when he was in Southampton. According to them he supports united. While watching arsenal beat united 3 0 in October 2015 in a local cafe he apparently said 'United should sign me'.
