I do not think we should go out by any means necessary.
I also do think the older generation have messed up the younger generation big time. In the marketing suite where I work at, we had this older gentleman around 67 that does some temp work for us-; he mentioned to me that he voted out and knows it would be tough, but so be it. He then went on to say, he inherited his parents house, which he sold. He put away 200k in some overseas bond, which is going to give him some fantastic returns, meanwhile young people left, right and centre are losing their jobs in the property industry partially because of Brexit.

Like grandma voted brexit For sovereignty 😂 I remember seeing few pensioners on day leave won and they were very chuffed they had their country back, whatever that meant. Personally it doesn’t affect me all too much which way it goes. I just expect a few more homeless on the street, ironically with some being brexit voters but in terms of my career and life it has very little affect tbh. I don’t think it will affect most people who are professionals etc. Think life will be okay for most and in reality it’s not that big a deal. Britain’s transition to mediocrity happened a long time ago, this is just a voluntary acceleration of that process. I’m not a nationalist so don’t care tbh about that

I did think the prior government definitely played their part, however this never happened during Obama's 8 years in office- why?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Obama served as President during the 111th through the 114th national congresses.
The 111th congress had a Democratic majority in the House and the Senate.
The 112th and 113th congresses had a Republican majority in the Senate, and the 114th had Republican majorities in the House and Senate.
Take a look at the legislation passed in the 111th congress and compare that to the other three.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Sorry for my ignorance Rosso, like I said earlier, i do not have in-depth knowledge of the American political environment. What ultimately are you getting at?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
No worries.
Just that Obama had a Democratic majority in both the House and the Senate only for the first two years that he was in power. During that period he had, on balance, the US equivalent of the House of Commons and the House of Lords on his side, and he could get his legislative programme moving and some key reformist legislation passed (including the revolutionary Affordable Care Act).
For the last six years of his presidency he had to deal first with a House, and then with a House and a Senate that worked to scupper his best laid plans at every turn.
Imagine Corbyn acting as President of the UK trying to get left of centre social democratic reforms passed with Conservative majorities in the House of Commons and House of Lords.
And on employment, regardless, Sanders herself has admitted, correcting previous statements she made, that Obama created far more (circa 3m I believe) jobs for black Americans than Trumps has to date.

Firstly, a second referendum is not undemocratic.
Secondly, both significant parts of the Con/Lab base voters voted for Leave. The calculations are all political. The parties calling for a second referendum have absolutely nothing to lose in supporting 2nd ref, they can only gain voters by doing.
Scholay is right in that sense. It's all a political game to either hold on to power on gain power, or undermine leaders they have disagreements with. The key point is, a second referendum does not solve things. Chaos in Parliament will spill onto the streets, Scotland and NI will wonder when the next time England fancies putting their own self interest ahead of theirs. Labour could potentially be wiped out depending on their stance on the 2nd referendum, and more years of being ruled by the current clowns, or worse BoJo's mob, and what uncertainty would that bring? All an entire mess that isn't easily fixed with a 2nd ref remain vote. A large proportion of people in ENGLAND and Wales will this time around feel their vote doesn't matter. They could ignore any concerns over democratic deficits in Scotland or NI, England, not so much.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I would say both parties could lose support, hard pro-leave voters aren't going to vote for any party that offers a second referendum. Not to mention the new centrist party that will take votes off both sides.
Chaos in the streetsget real. This would be the first vote on actual terms rather than made up terms that were unattainable.
We were shown the hotel in the holiday brochure and it looked amazing. We choose that hotel and now 2 weeks before we leave we can see the hotel is half built on dodgy foundations and you still want to head out there. It's madness.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Nope. I don't particularly still want to go out of the EU. Having said that there is an opportunity for a border poll where I live, so that's something to fall back on.
Yes there will be chaos on the streets of England if there is a second ref and remain wins, and the debate legal battles will go on for years.
The point is yes it solves the immediate issue, but doesn't sole the underlying issue that in it's current form, the UK doesn't work.

The sad thing is many of those type of sites on social media are operated by the Internet Research Agency in St Petersburg. Which is overseen by the GRU. Millions of eejits have been unwittingly sharing Russian propaganda....
