One example:

‘I just don't rate him as high as Gerrard and Lampard and neither did his peers.’

You weren’t rebuffing anything at the time. You were just making a statement of fact that you have no place making.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yes, exactly. His peers didn't rate him as highly, evidenced by their votes. If they did, more of them would have voted for him and he'd have featured higher in the awards than Lampard and Gerrard. I'm not sure why you're struggling with that. It's pretty basic. If you want to argue they were more likely to receive votes, other than their respective abilities, fine but you can't argue that his peers didn't vote him as highly as Gerrard and Lampard as that's fact and it's documented. You can't rewrite history.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

You’re actually delusional.

"I don't claim to know what his peers thought only what they voted, which is surely linked to what they thought."

Mental gymnastics!

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Well I haven't asked them why more of them voted for Gerrard and Lampard, I only know that they did.

That make up their careers. So you're saying Scholes was better but inconsistent? I'd say Scholes was very consistent but never consistently better than Gerrard or Lampard and their peers agree.

It’s not about what I think.

It’s about you trying to pass something off as a fact that isn’t.

Out of the thousands of players that would be regarded as peers, how many voted for Gerrard? 100?

So even if you took those 100 and said they rated Gerrard higher (based on one seasons vote, so completely flawed), what about the rest?

What about the hundreds/thousands who never voted for either?

Your ‘fact’ is so far from being credible it belongs in the fiction aisle.

Don't leave!

Have you done your homework from last week?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

He hasn’t.

He will continue to decide what ‘holding’ means in the laws of the game. He does not need to actually read the laws of the game.

My favourite ever player. I have to be consistent in my assessment, it is all well and good sitting inside those fancy studios talking nonsense. He is going to go down the Neville route now, scared to say anything
