I didn’t realise how bad a decision that offside was until I realised at NO point in that move were any Forest players offside, what was the Lino looking at, terrible decision.

Agreed, I just reviewed the iFollow video and stopped the video when Ben the loon headed the hall towards goal. There are definitely three, maybe even four players playing Murphy onside. The Lino could not have been confused by any Forest players beyond the last man as there weren't any.

Yet another disgraceful decision that has cost us two points.

Just watched Sky Sports championship match highlights, they DIDN’T even show the disallowed goal, but it looks like Ipswich had some really good chances, Pants looked ok, but defensively we were all over again

Our next opponents are currently 2-0 up on Man City, hopefully they will be concentrating on the Cup a week on Saturday, and not put up too much of a fight.

Guess they will be back on Championship duty, final score 2-3, thanks to two very dodgy refereeing decisions. Sounds very familiar, the officials are making more headlines than the players.

The ref also denied Ipswich a penalty and a perfectly good goal...as he wasn't ready.

If we could have scored two, they easily could've scored three or four. Regardless of any proposed momentum.

Outplayed and outfought. Even if we have Byram and Grabban back in the side and play this:

Pants
Byram Benny Milosevic Robinson
Colback Pele
Lolley Carvalho Cash
Grabban

...we will end up nowhere, as tactically (we are at times) the worst I've seen.

If MON / RK can't get that side winning regularly then they simply aren't good enough. When the substitutions came on we detiorated massively and clearly had no idea what to do. None.

We were bullied off the ball, our passing was misfiring nearly all afternoon and our goal was wind assisted.

Thankfully I have two weeks until the next pile of sheet.

Morninchile I actually think that side is not too far off.

We could perhaps do with a better keeper although we have conceded fewer goals than half the teams above us. This despite our CB problems. So I cant see that that is urgent.

We will have Joe Worrall in our back line; hopefully he will be better and play more games than any of the CBs we have at the moment.

I understand why the fans chant for Carvalho - he is our most creative player after Lolley. He can see a pass and often he can make that pass. But more often he can't. He is not good enough for a team hoping to be promoted from the Championship. He cannot run with the ball, he cannot go past an opponent, he has no great pace, he can't tackle, he cant head. He is not brave enough to get in the box where it hurts. A loan back to Portugal is the best thing next season where if he does well someone may offer to give us most of the £13 million we spent on him.

We need another striker who can at least double Murphy's scoring rate of 3 in 16 (Patrick Bamford if Leeds go up).

So I reckon with two quality additions in the summer (no Olympiakos cast-offs please); better luck with injuries, fewer suspensions, and some half decent refs when we need them we could be in with a chance.

I disagree with you on Carvalho. He's the right player in the wrong set-up. We built the team around him, now we're trying to lower his football IQ and turn him into a Championship battler.

Byram and Pele won't be here. Take out Lolley who will likely demand a move to Villa and Colback who'll be snapped up and we have:

Pants
Darikwa Worrall Milosevic Robinson
Guedioura Yates
Cash Carvalho Osborn
Grabban

That side coupled with MON / RKs summer imports, followed by their inevitable departure is a relegation battle.

We lost AK due to a defensive crisis. We'll lose our team due to a footballing crisis. Then our league position due to a confidence crisis.

This is worrying. We can't even beat Ipswich ffs!!

There is something in what you say about Carvalho. The passes he fails to make are sometimes due to other players not being on his wavelength and seeing the pass as well. Osborn links up well with him and so does Grabban. And you're right to say that he would be a better player with good players around him but you can say that about any player in any team game. But I still think we need a creative midfielder who can create but also dog it out when needed. E.g. Grealish and McGinn last Wednesday.

I think we could have Byram next season. WHU don't want him and who else would have him given his injury record?

Joe Lolley has tweeted that the Villa talk is rubbish and he signed a four year deal for a reason. We've heard that sort of talk from lots of players tho' and the twitter account could be a fake of course; but I'm hopeful.

I think Carvalho can be allowed a season to get the measure of Championship football, can’t he? Look beyond the price tag and realise he is still young and inexperienced. He was overvalued by around £3/4m realistically and that will be the “Mendes tax”. I think there is potential there but he needs to toughen up.

posted on 17/3/19

The speculation around Lolley to Villa was only going to increase after playing them last week. I think he still has plenty to learn yet. I don’t think he is ready for a big move yet but that won’t stop his agent whispering in his ear.

Colback will have plenty of suitors and MoN faces a hard sell persuading him to sign on. A surprise appearance in the play offs might help but that is looking increasingly likely. Other than that, they will have to offer him a seriously good contract, I reckon.

I meant increasingly unlikely, of course. 😬

Apparently Colback has another year left on his Newcastle contract, so we could try for another season long loan, or better still just buy him outright. He needs to stop picking up so many bookings, but is absolutely essential to us. Still can’t see why Yacob hasn’t featured recently.

Have to disagree about Carvalho after watching the match replay on ifollow.

Won the ball in his own half with a good tackle, breezed past a couple of players and almost put Cash in with a pass that was just cut out by the fullback.

Sounds like Roy Keane might have taken him to one side. If that sort of thing continues I'm prepared to admit I'm wrong.

Need him to do it consistently next season.

Messi floats one over the goalkeeper and it's all over the internet; it's a wonder goal, Messi is a god.

Jack Colback does the same to the Villa keeper and he has mis hit a cross.

It's time some people took their noses out from where they don't belong.
