Are they close to being done as a top club?
++

In our dreams, yes.

For a few years if this transfer ban comes into place, I think they are. But they'll always be back with Roman at the helm. People thought they were done when Mourinho had his meltdown and they won the league a year later.

Its getting there.

They have massive problems with their HG quota and transfer ban. Can see Wolves overtaking them soon enough.

We have probably heard this atleast once a year since Mourinho left the first time.

But in short no, we have become too big a club in the modern era to disappear into the abyss (relative to the top of the game).

At absolute worse (and i will be surprised if even this comes to fruition) we will have a mini slump in the form of Liverpool pre this season.

Hazard looks like he’s finally off and Hudson Odoi will likely push for an exit again.

They could be left with an attack full of 30 somethings.

Absolutely no chance we sell both without replacements, even one would be pushing it.

In the short term, they could potentially have a rocky few years. But given their stature in recent years, and the resources they have, I expect them to be back on top after that.

But who knows with Chelsea? They finished mid table one season and, just when you thought everything would come crumbling down, they won the league the year after.

A lot of it also depends on what happens with Hazard and even Hudson-Odoi (who is a lot more dynamic and energetic than Pedro/Willian).

Both approaching their final year of their contracts. What if both refuse to sign new deals?

We will chance it with at least one of them, probably Callum as i think if game time is the reason he wants to leave then there's every chance we can talk him around.

Possibly true. Hazard to Real looks nailed on.

Roman wants to sell doesn't he?

A hopeless manager.
Hazard likely to leave.
2 window transfer ban for an already badly struggling squad.

Likely to perform the Arsenal role of beating the minnows and being crap v the big sides for a couple of seasons.

He's yet to start in the PL.

Doesn't look like you're doing enough to keep him.

We need Abramovich to start spending money again. Without that we're in trouble.

Let's also not forget that Chelsea have like 40 players out on loan who deserve a chance to prove themselves, as well as youth players.

Batshuayi, Abraham, Palmer, Zouma, Chalobah, Ampadu, van Ginkel, Mount etc.

Maybe not all of them will be first-team regulars, but I can see some of them being good squad players to have. It's about time some of them were given more of a chance to prove what they can do at Chelsea.

Nah probably win the league next season with Wenger in charge.

Pulisic replaces Hazard and we most likely let CHO run his contract down unless a crazy offer comes in.

CHO is out of contract next season, if i was the kid i'd hang around and sign a pre-contract next January.

Imagine the wages he could get if Bayern don't need to pay 35m

comment by Jose Mourinho, just the Portuguese Fat Sam, teaching 19th century football. Klopp is the better manager, and Eva Caniero was right. #Hazard knows ✌ (U22090)

I think they are in real trouble. That squad needs serious, serious work, a lot of investment is required, and it won't be coming any time soon with the transfer ban.

If Hazard leaves they are so screwed, he's the only one who can create in their team and they have looked weak the back this season too.

Sure it's been mentioned, but they have some of the best youth teams in Europe and they have some good players out on loan.

A 2 year transfer ban could be a blessing in disguise.
