Which is exactly why people talk about a second referendum - but apparently that is anti-democratic.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
And if the result is the same then what ? A 3rd referendum? Or maybe a 4th or 5th? Maybe eventually you will get the result you want. Absolute ridiculous to even suggest a 2nd referendum. What the hell will that achieve? The referendum was already granted and more people voted out in a democratic vote, end of story.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It's not ridiculous at all. Many people feel they we duped into voting to leave by the lies they were told, including but certainly not limited to the bus,.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It certainly is ridiculous, people knew what they were voting for, I certainly did, dont let Corbyn pull the wool over your eyes, another vote and it's the end of democracy as we know it
----------------------------------------------------------------------
"people knew what they were voting for"
Statements like this are nuts.
Who on earth (in 2015/6) knew of all 44 EU agencies we were/are in. Euramus, Horizon, ERDF, Euratom, EASA, EBA, PEACE, EBA, etc etc etc. The complexities of the EU's common external tariff, common commercial policy etc.
Who had an idea how the ecosystem of the EU's internal market functioned, and how removing us from it would impact the country.
If anyone (leave or remain) states explicitly they know exactly what they were voting for they're telling porkies.
How on earth could a binary in/out choice define a multifaceted complex subject I’ve no idea.

Dave&Danny, you are entitled to your opinion, but to say every single person knew what they were voting for is a total nonsense. You may have done, but I know plenty who readily admit they didn`t have a clue what they were voting for, and were swayed because they thought leaving would mean the end of immigration. They knew nothing about the single market, customs union, setting up new markets, the Irish Border. Even me who follows politics quite closely had not a single idea about the Irish Border or the Customs Union when I voted.
Also not sure why you are bringing Jeremy Corbyn into the discussion. He never called the Referendum, he is not conducting discussions on the leaving the EU, he has had no input at all. This is a Tory Government Brexit 100 per cent, they need to own it, and not keep passing the buck.

The VL campaign team didn't even realise how Brexit would effect the Irish Border. So how could the voters. As highlighted in this article by an apologetic Oliver Norgrove who worked for VL:

Corbyn is also a massive Eurosceptic who is only calling for a second referendum under massive internal pressure. Bizarre choice of individual to use in that particular plea.

Very democratic I would have thought.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Many people didn't, which is what I said. Nobody pulled the wool over my eyes. I work in an industry where I knew exactly where we would lose out. The problem is many people didn't know much about it and were duped by the lies. Many of those people are now saying they would change their vote.
Don't assume because you don't know anything about it, that nobody else does. Some people don't need politicians to spoon feed them and can look at the figures themselves. I've never voted in an election, never will, there's never been a benefit for me to do so but I was sure as hell going to vote on something that would put me in a worse position personally and in my work. Unfortunately there were lies, on both sides, and some people went with those lies rather than an informed decision and I don't blame people for that, I blame the liars. They should never have got away with it. If they were advertising a brand and not a vote, they wouldn't have. I don't see the difference. It's false advertising to sway the public to invest in a product.
They got away with it because it was only an advisory vote. If the vote had been mandatory, then the courts would have overturned it on grounds of illegality.
Course the fact that it was advisory means the Government were never actually under a legal obligation to see it through, which is just doubly ridiculous since the situation we're in was completely our own Government's doing.
Sandy .... you should damned well stick to football.
BTW the Belgium v Russia game was worth watching. With our guys Vertonghen and Arlderweireld in action.
Eden Hazard is one hell of a player.
And we could do a lot worse than getting Batshuayi as a Kane backup.
So there Levy ... do summat for once!
I think the whole think is an insult to N. Ireland, no not the backstop but the fact we call it BRexit ie BRitain exit. It is actually UKexit.
Re the backstop it is the tail wagging the dog, we fack up the whole process just to appease a small minority in N.Ireland. Fack 'em, let Ireland unite then they have to worry about a border.

Leave voters aren’t happy because 17.5 million people have been completely disregarded and lied to. We were told we would be exiting the EU after a democratic vote was won fairly and the government are still pi^** about 3 years down the line. It’s all a complete farce and I would rather leave the EU cesspit with no deal at all.

That guy is thick as sheite. Wouldn't waste your time trying to explain to him. Let Ireland unite
Let Ireland blow each other up more like. He calls it an insult to Northern Ireland and his great idea is to go against the wishes of the people and force them to leave the UK. The Good Friday Agreement, which GB played a major part in, stated that there would be no United Ireland without the majority of the people voting for it. This is called the 'principle of consent'. You can't go back on this agreement, which stopped the killings just because you created a mess and left a vote on something so important open to a bunch of neanderthals.
The tail isn't wagging anything. They knew before they started that leaving the EU meant there would be an issue at the only point that EU borders touched land within the UK. They had loads of time to sort it, they haven't.

Whilst Brexit has raised tensions there is no majority in NI for a border poll.
Didn`t like the majority of Northern Ireland vote to remain in the EU, so why is the DUP not fighting their corner?

Because they are idiots. They also didnt want to back the Good Friday Agreement. They're akin to Farage, the lot of them. Most of their voters voted for Brexit.

They're not.
They appose the 'backstop' (UK wide customs territory) as they believe NI will be treated differently to the mainland.
Despite NI having a host of different laws (most notably social issues) than GB. They also chose to forget there already is an east/west 'border' between NI and GB.
In particular for cattle imports:
https://www.daera-ni.gov.uk/articles/cattle-imports-gb
For anyone interested, a lot of DUP policy is derived from these head bangers:

Leave voters aren't happy*
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Leave voters aren’t happy because 17.5 million people have been completely disregarded and lied to.

For anyone interested, a lot of DUP policy is derived from these head bangers:
