Suarez by far. Missed the start of the season due to being banned and still banged in 31 goals and 17 assists, in 33 games.

I thought it was 13 assists?

Actually I just checked on the official PL site. It's 12.

This link may be wrong as other sites saying 13. So 44, in total with Henry's being 44 also but in more games.

Record number of assists. No other player has made it to 20 assists. So 44 PL goals contributed to either by scoring or assisting. I think that's the most by anyone.

I found that surprising for a striker! Just looked it up and it's correct.

That season Ronaldo was as much a right winger as Jeremy Corbyn is today.

Great season bur for accuracy people need to drop that myth. If anything he operated in a similar way to Henry starting wide but also being the main man in the box and furthest forward of the attack

That's what makes it so impressive. When you think about all the creative midfielders who are setting up strikers, like KDB, Hazard, Eriksen, Ozil, Fabregas, Silva...none of them have matched that number of assists.

I'd be inclined to give it to Suarez 13/14 actually.

Incredible as Henry, Ronaldo and the rest were I dont think they quite carried their respective teams the way Suarez did - you only have to look at how Liverpool collapsed the following season when he left.

I think a few of the Leicester lads should be in the conversation though for that incredible season - Vardy and Kante arguably.

That Transfer Market website has Suarez down as 17 assists and lists the games he got them in. If I was sad with no life I'd watch the highlights of all games to confirm. I'm on it!

No seriously - Hafi get on it!

We collapsed not only because Suarez left but the three who devastated defences was completely broken up with Sturridge out for the season and Sterling having to play as the main striker due to us buying bloody Balotelli who was awful.

Imagine if Suarez was taking pens too. He'd have had 40 goals that season.

If you compare with say Salah last season, Suarez in fewer games had more shots, more passes, created more chances, hit the wood work more, and scored with free kicks.

Surely in regards to Suarez he has to do it when it matters. He choked on that day against Chelsea when it’s likely even a draw would have been enough (I believe with a draw Liverpool wouldn’t have gone to Palace and mess up.

Other players have had great seasons and turned up when it mattered most (like Cantona at St James Park in 96)

People forget Sturridge got 31 goals and assists in 29 games in 13/14.

Sterling got about 16 goals and assists when he was 19, in 24 starts.

Coutinho was also excellent that season, making things happen and Gerrard was nominated for player of the season and voted into team of the season, playing from deep with 13 goals and 15 assists.

So to say Suarez, as great as he was, carried that side is a little disingenuous to the others who had great season.

To say

He was outstanding, far better than Salah was last season. Salah was lethal but Suarez did more for the team.

How did he choke? Did you watch the game? They parked the bus and scored with two counter attacks, one after a slip from our deepest player, one after a corner when we were all out in search for the goal. He barely had a sniff.

Robb's logic is that the player who had the best season didn't in fact have the best season as his team lost a game and he didn't win it on his own. Top logic there.

There's a reason you're called Nobb.

I don't think that's fair. All these players have had games they've not scored in. Ronaldo had a better team around him overall, and manager, which will have helped make it possible for them to win the title.

I bet Ronaldo in that season wasn't any more prolific against the top teams.

I think people look into this score against top teams thing too much. Of course you're gonna score less against the top teams, they're top teams.

Regardless he scored against Arsenal, Spurs, Chelsea and City. The only top six team he didnt score against was United.
